am i a sidewalk fan?

never attended the university nor has anyone in my family, till my daughter started there this year. I`ve never bought season tickets but attend many including this years BCSNCG, on a scale of 1 being a side walker to 10 being an AU legacy, where would that rate me? This is about a conversation i had with a bama fan.

As long as you pick one team and stick with them whether they're good or bad, I don't see the problem with cheering for whoever you want.
Especially since you have a legit reason to cheer for AU.

Yes you are but who cares. FTR I didn't get to attend the university either. I was accepted out of high school but wanted to stay close to home/girlfriend for 2 years so I went to a local JC. For some reason after 5 years of JC my 26 on the ACT and being a legacy were no longer enough to get me accepted. I had to settle for a BBA from USA.

If your money is going to AU via your daughter being a student then that's not sidewalk at all.

I have had season tickets for a long time. Go to every home game, half the away games and every bowl game. Both Championships, spring games since I have no idea when.
Never went to Auburn. So, we are what we are. DWI

Sidewalk to me is if you just choose the team out of the blue, never contribute a dime to see them play and don't acknowledge that there's a university surrounding the stadium. That's some sidewalk ish.

To be fair there are many students at auburn who probably fit in this group. Especially freshman year.

I was that way at least fall freshman year. Thankfully the football team was bad enough in '11 that I was able to focus a little on school

OP you're probably a better fan than me and I went to the school. I graduated in 2011 and haven't seen the campus since. And I live 2 hours away in Atlanta.
