FSU OL He Gone

quote:

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP) — Florida State coach Jimbo Fisher says offensive lineman Ira Denson has been dismissed from the team.

Denson was arrested on Tuesday and charged with petit theft and fraudulent use of a credit card over $100. He allegedly stole running back Mario Pender's debit card on Dec. 20, 2013, and made three transactions for a total of $501.36.

Are other SEC schools this strict about misdemeanors and theft?

I know some schools say they are MUCH stricter at enforcing and disciplining for rule infractions than other schools in the conference.

Do you think he would be kicked off your team for theft?
For SC, we would, we already kicked off a kid named Watley who did something like this to another student years ago.

I have no idea how the LSU staff would handle that, but I'm assuming they wouldn't want problems like that in the locker room. Stealing from a teammate is just asking for some shite to go down.

If a guy steals from a team mate, especially to the tune of $500, I'd really hope he got expelled from school at the very least

This had nothing to do with it being a middemeanor. They kicked him off because he was stealing from a freaking teammate. Think aboout that

I thought it was funny, it's how they wrote it in the article.

It was the fact that it was a teammate. He must go.

For real. It sounds like theft from La Madeleine or something.

We kicked this guy out because he was allegedly involved with stealing over $500 from a teammate.

I can understand a school having some wiggle room with theft in general, but when it comes to theft from their teammates, there can be no other option. They have to be kicked off. I cannot think of any situation in which you'd keep a player on the team that had stolen directly from his teammates.

Keeping up the legacy of UGA of turning promising athletes into thieves. There are many Uga's rolling over in their graves.
