36 hours ago, it was lose, fire Cuonzo and hire Pearl. With Bruce off the market, do y'all still want to lose and fire him? Or is it now, frick it and let's see how far we can go?

Good hire Aubie but your Volsession is out of hand. I thank him for the good times but Pearl was yesterday news.

Tennessee could still fire Counzo and re-hire Pearl if they wanted.

I think majority of the Tennessee fans were still cheering for this team. It was only a select few like that troll Phat Phil that wanted Tennessee to lose so they would fire Cuonzo.

Try not to think about what might have been. Because that was then. And Pearl's taken a different road.

In that case, I want to curb stomp Iowa, Umass and Duke. We got a tourney to play and I hope the team that shows up is the one that plays to its talent level because that team is good enough to beat anyone. As for Zo, I'm not concerned about him right now. IF he can make a deep run and a sweet sixteen is the minimum for this team, then he stays another year. After that he's got a cruddy roster so whether or not he can coach will be exposed next season -- if he can perform above expectations then he'll have taken a leap forward in his coaching we've been waiting to see. It will work itself out one way or another. I just want this team to do what we all know it can right now. I'll worry about the future later.

I didn't watch UT much this year, but they looked really good against UF. Seemed like a well coached team.

Confident we're the better team. Just Scared that the whole McCafery son situation gives Iowa a big boost.

Hope Tennessee goes as far as possible in the tourney and then Cuonzo moves on.

It's a tale of two completely different teams. Them losing 6 out of their last 7 should bode well for us, but if they play to their strengths and play the transition game well and get hot from 15 ft. and closer we're in trouble. If we can play to our strengths, play suffocating D and get our points in the paint consistently I think we're a hard match up for anyone in the country.

Is that possible?

To add to that, Pearl's situation has nothing to do with me wanting Cuonzo fired. There are still tons of coaches I would rather have than Cuonzo.

If we could get a guy like Ben Howland I would prefer that over both Cuonzo and Pearl.

Yeah. There is talk he may want out. Not sure I buy it but that would be ideal. If he stays around, I don't think he makes it past next year anyway.

If Cuonzo stays and struggles next year and AU improves the Pearl talk will likely ramp back up.

I've heard some chatter that Cuonzo might bolt elsewhere if he could make anything close to a lateral move. I don't know how realistic that is, but those rumblings are out there. With the vocal criticism/fans constant grumbling it's not hard to see why he might be thinking this place isn't a great fit for him.

This is what our basketball mod said.

Keep in mind that this 'lateral move' speculation was started by Wes Rucker and Wes Rucker also completely fabricated a quote that made it sound like Martin was dissing the fans. Rucker said "If I were Cuonzo and I got a lateral offer I'd take it" and then made up quotes. Rucker's basically become the equivalent of Clay Travis - stirring up shite, trying to instigate fights, and dissing fans.
