Should an SEC School Hang an NIT Championship Banner in their Arena?

I know. Not sure why. You should be proud to win any tournament, and you should cherish whatever tournament you're invited to as much needed extra practice to build upon for next season.

The NIT used to be a really big deal, not so much anymore.

The NIT back in the 1970s was still a big deal because usually only the conference champion and rarely anyone else from a lot of leagues would even make the NCAA tournament. Old NIT banners from 1973 and the like are not all that embarassing in that regard, as the team that did it probably would be like a 3 or 4 seed in the NCAA tournament these days.
On the other hand, hanging banners of any sort for modern day NIT appearances would be embarassing as hell and no SEC team should ever do it. Not even Arkansas.
