I heard there was a lot of buzz around him being a FA. Surely he can get a multi-year deal after his 1 year deal is up somewhere else.

When you have cinder blocks for hands and a med history involving a stroke at his age. No flyers are to be taken with contracts. He's training camp invite at best or he's got drug issues that have been kept under wraps.
