We are 1-4 vs Ga Southern, Kennesaw, and Ga fricking State. I don't understand how this is possible regardless. and now we are getting beat by BINGHAMTON at home??? Are we sure Strickland is this home run hire everyone thought he was?

All I know is that Strickland has one more win than Perno would have with this team. I seriously think it will be another year or two after this season until we are competitive again.

Give the man a few classes but I didn't think we would suck this bad

Perno left the cupboard bare. He recruited players tht got drafted before even showing up on campus or just when they were getting good.
This is a throwaway year for Strickland to start building a program.

Apparently but sheesh how do lesser schools in our own state get better players?

They actually put in the man hours to scout guys that will actually make it to campus versus just carpet bombing the top 250 baseball players in the country with offers. I mean, UGA is great and all but I highly doubt guys like Jayson Werth (from Sprignfield, IL) commit to UGA because they legitimately thought they'd end up there. Under Perno, UGA was the respectable back-up plan for guys that either a.) didn't go as high in the draft as they thought they should or b.) had a change of heart late in the process and decided they wanted to go to college. The fact that we were able to cobble together a team consisting of Poythress, Beckham, Massinerri, Fields, Lewis, Piesel, etc. was a minor miracle under that recruiting strategy.

that wasnt his only good team

I really belief Stricklin is a great hire and he needs more time. It is his first year and needs time to build the program from ground up.
Nonetheless I am absolutely shocked by the results so far.

I know, but it was easily his most successful. The other teams alternated between good-not-great CWS teams and mediocre squads that got knocked out in aregional. The fact that his last 3 teams tanked so hard is evidence of how lazy he had gotten.

Yeah, I thought we'd struggle, but we are junior college bad right now and that is not an exaggeration. Someone should go to jail for this.

May be he is one and done. or maybe he stays and they fire the AD.

I think thats a pretty ignorant statement unless you know some direct info. just because his teams sucked doesn't mean the man was lazy. he never seemed like that guy.

fricking (German pronunciation: ['f?k??], rhymes with "booking"[2]) is an Austrian village[3] in the municipality of Tarsdorf,[4] in the Innviertel region of western Upper Austria. The village is 33 kilometres (21 mi) north of Salzburg, 4 kilometres (2.5 mi) east of the German border.

No way this happens

He took Kent freaking State to Omaha and ended #1 ranked Florida's season there. The man can manage for sure. Winning at Kent in any sport is a hell of an accomplishment.

yeah those are like the only 2 things that are definitely not happening

Your are right, that is probably not going to happen. That would require something other than the Jerry Jones style of management.
So we will limp into a new football season with a suspect quarterback (not his fault but the coaches fault), a suspect offensive line (not their fault but the coaches fault) and a defense which may or may not improve. Hmmm.
Meanwhile we will keep our basketball coach for another season (he is a nice guy) and then probably have to fire him at the end of next year.
Meanwhile, we wait to see if the new baseball coach is really worse than the last guy.
shite give the AD a raise. I really miss the early 80s when I was there.
