Switching from Pantone 200 to 202. Little darker shade of red.

If I'm understanding Mike Wadell correctly, it's not true 202 but a slight more cardinal version of it.
It's definitely not 200 because that's what UGA uses. However it's not straight up 202 because that's what Mississippi St uses.

I wish they would settle on an official cardinal color. Seems over the past 25 yrs it been everything between maroon and red and every company makes it different. I think we even had maroon looking helmets years ago with red jerseys or the other way around.

That's what they're doing. Waddell has been out at Nike for the last few days working on standardizing our colors across the board.

Back in the 60s, the same color as UGA was used, judging by old color photos.
Since then many different shades have been used, the confusion for some comes from the name "cardinal red" which has been the most consistent color used, people around here think that is the same shade as the St. Louis Cardinals use, but it isn't the Cardinals do not use Cardinal red....
Also the color isn't named after the bird.

like it. last years uniform color was a lot better than the bright red uniform's from 2008
