Lupoi recruiting on the road for the 2016 class makes me giddy. We should be able to snag Moon and Davis at LB. Losing Thompson gave me a few worries there, but this is a wash in terms of coaching and recruiting.

Just confirming I'll be tight ends coach and special teams coordinator next season J.K. Scott and O.J. Howard thank you, but seriously glad Lupoi can recruit on the road now, he will pay big dividends.

BamaOnline has confirmed through multiple sources that former Washington Huskies assistant coach Tosh Lupoi will be named an on-field assistant coach for Alabama in the coming days.

One trusted source expects the official word to come as early as Sunday.

Lupoi is expected to coach outside linebackers, replacing now Auburn assistant Lance Thompson.

As BOL has reported for the past two weeks, Crimson Tide defensive coordinator Kirby Smart is expected to move from the secondary to inside linebackers, leaving Nick Saban with one remaining on-field assistant spot to fill.

Alabama CB Tony Brown wins first collegiate indoor track event

The sophomore took the 60 meter hurdles Saturday afternoon at the Vanderbilt Invitational. He was third after running an 8.01 in the prelims, but won it with a 7.89 in the finals. Auburn's Torrey Campbell qualified first with a 7.92, but didn't finish in the finals.

Brown also ran the 60 meters at the Vanderbilt Invitational. He finished sixth (6.84) after qualifying fourth (6.82).

As a freshman in 2014, Brown's best finish in the 60 meter hurdles was third in the Tyson Invitational. A week ago, he qualified sixth for the finals in the 60 meter sprint at the Auburn Invitational. But a false start in the finals resulted in a disqualification.

Brown played in 13 games as a freshman last season after arriving as one of the nation's top cornerbacks. He started against Florida and Ole Miss, but was replaced by Eddie Jackson once he returned to health. Brown made 10 total tackles and broke up one pass in his first collegiate season.

I went to the basketball game tonight. It was a good crowd, at times electric. I hope the recruits stayed until the end.

So what did the experts on BOL say about Prince?

Wiltfong said he is a redshirt season away from possibly being the best OT in this class.

Barton Simmons said about the same thing particularly regarding his frame.

For me though the real "news" in the article came from Tim Watts and it has nothing to do with Prince's abilities:

quote:

"There were a lot of great options for that final spot at offensive tackle for Alabama,"said Watts.

I guess we aren't going to get Chidi.
