It's hard to say. Some just go with their gut based on visits and comments. Some go based on things they hear from sources they trust. Some just go based on what everyone else is doing. For instance, Rusty Mansell doesn't make CB picks unless he feels confident about that kid picking that school. He does his homework which translates in to higher accuracy with his cb picks than most.

JC is typically very good. The guys who work as national analysts for 247 are usually pretty solid with real info.

With the team site guys, it's best to really only pay attention to the analysts for the teams involved and maybe the guys who are located near that prospect.

Ladler Liking the Dawgs
Dan McDonald
Staff
Stephenson High School in Stone Mountain (Ga.) has been one of the top high school football programs in Georgia for a while now, and they routinely pump out players that go on to play college football at the highest level. Over the years, they have sent a few players up to Athens to play for the University of Georgia and have another committed for the Class of 2015 in defensive end Chauncey Rivers.
The Bulldogs are hoping they can come back to Stephenson again in the 2016 class and sign cornerback Khalil Ladler. Ladler is one of the top defensive prospects in the nation for next year, the No. 2 overall cornerback and the No. 65 player in the Rivals100. Ladler already has 21 scholarship offers from the likes of Alabama, LSU, Auburn and Florida State. The four-star prospect visited Georgia once this year when the Bulldogs hosted Tennessee and plans to be back in Sanford Stadium for the Auburn game.
"It was very loud," Ladler said of the Georgia-Tennessee game. "The atmosphere was pretty cool. I went to the game with Chauncey Rivers. I talked to Coach [Jeremy] Pruitt and Coach [Bryan] McLendon while I was up there."
If Ladler ends up at Georgia, he'll be playing in the secondary for defensive coordinator Jeremy Pruitt, a coach of which he speaks highly.
"Coach Pruitt, he's been very straight up with me about he feels about me," Ladler said. "He said he needs some guys to come in and play right away. He's a fantastic coach. He likes his young guys. If he sees you have potential to be a player, he puts you on the field."
Ladler, whose brother Kenny Ladler starred at Vanderbilt and currently plays for the Buffalo Bills, has been rumored to be a strong LSU lean. But when asked which schools stand out, there was one program Ladler was quick to mention.
"I really like Georgia," Ladler admitted. "I like mostly everybody. I'm just waiting to see what happens."
Ladler likes that Georgia regularly finishes at the top of the SEC.
"They are just a big powerhouse. They are always going to be good, offense and defense," Ladler said.
Don't expect Ladler to drag out his recruitment too long. He'll likely know where he's going to play college football before he starts his senior season next year.
"I'll do it sometime after the season, either next semester in school or next summer. I'm trying to figure out what major I want in and that's what I'll look into for school. I don't want to go too far from home. I just want to be close enough to where my parents can come watch me play."
Through eight games as a junior this year, Ladler has intercepted two passes, broken up eight others, and has 34 tackles for a 6-2 Stephenson team.

Georgia Recruiting: 2015 LB Chuks Amaechi, “…Georgia is on top for me”
by Kimberley Nash

Chuks Amaechi is coveting his first major offer—from the Georgia Bulldogs—but will it translate into a commitment? Photo: 247Sports
The Georgia Bulldogs are coming off a bye week and are still awaiting a decision on the eligibility status of one Todd Gurley, but the recruiting trail never sleeps and one JUCO defensive back found himself with a top flight offer after defensive coordinator Jeremy Pruitt took a look at his tape.
Chuks Amaechi (Yuma, AZ) is a 6’3, 220 pound, linebacking prospect out of Arizona Western Community College and Georgia’s Mike Ekeler has had him on his radar for quite some time. Amaechi likes to hit and he’s intrigued at the possibility of playing for the University of Georgia. As a matter of fact, with the Bulldogs being one of his first major offers, he already has them at the top of his list—a list he figures will only get longer now that a major Division-I program has him in its sights.
“With Georgia being such a great program and in the SEC, plus they are the first big school to come after me, it puts them on top. Georgia is on top for me,” Amaechi said.

I really think McFadden is torn. Or it's a instance where the kid likes one place, the family likes another.

And truth be told, all this negative publicity around FSU right now can't help.

There are more than a few people who have suggested that McFadden actually would prefer to go to Georgia with his friends, but family wants FSU.

Another thing to consider that I saw someone point out, his timeline of FSU OV, planned commit, then UGA OV actually makes more sense if he was planning to commit to UGA the whole time.

I still think he commits to FSU on Friday, but I don't think it's that clear cut. I don't think it'll be over either way.

At least if he's done with the OV to FSU then it lowers the pressure that Jimbo the Jail Warden can apply since McFadden wod be leaving their fold.

If his family shares 1 good brain cell they would see that FSU's coach is an enabling idiot riding Winston into the sunset. I would never allow my son to play for a coach with such low moral integrity. frick FSU and if this kid's family can't see which program will develop their son for the better, then all we can do is wish the kid well and find a kid who wants the Red and Black no matter what. Pruitt was the genius behind FSU's championship defense last year and Richt has shown he teaches young men more than Football.

The sad thing is that most kids - and parents - are looking at the best way to get money. It has been proven time and again that ethics and morals have little to no bearing.

He stated his announcement will be at his school at 11am today. I expect him to pick FSU as well but we could flip him. Especially if Sony and Isaiah are in his ear about playing with them and starting early for us.
