Cameron Robinson, the nation's No. 3 player and top-ranked offensive tackle in the 2014 class from West Monroe (La.) High School, is next in line. Robinson, who is joined in the class by top-ranked juco offensive tackle Dominick Jackson (San Mateo, Calif./College of San Mateo), knows there's pressure on him to carry on the tackle tradition under Saban. The pressure was actually something that drew him to Alabama in the first place.

The interior prospects aren't too shabby, either. Ross Pierschbacher (Cedar Falls, Iowa/Cedar Falls) is the No. 3 offensive guard, Josh Casher (Mobile, Ala./Saint Paul's Episcopal) is the top-ranked center, J.C. Hassenauer (Woodbury, Minn./East Ridge) is the second-best center and Montel McBride (Plant City, Fla./Plant City) ranks in the top 30 at guard.

I don't care about them being the best ever on paper, I want them to be among the best on the field.

The point being that "on paper" is all we have to go on until they hit the field.

I think most would agree OL is the toughest position group to project out of high school. About the only reason to judge them "on paper" is to see how well the projections did in 2-3 years, but by then no one will really care.

The only position I don't mind getting 3 star guys at is OL. Go back and look at all the 4 and 5 star busts along the OL. It is by far the hardest position to rate coming out of high school.

But yeah as far as ratings on paper your OL looks great.

Stanford in 2011 or 12 had a monster haul on the OL... Auburn had a good one in 2011 with Greg Robinson, Reese Dismukes, Christian Westerman (has since transfered to Az St).... if not for CyKo decommitting, it would've been the GOAT.

Obviously easy to judge now, but Luke Joeckel, Jake Matthews, and Cedric Ogbuehi were all in the same recruiting class in 2010.

The real question should be, will they be the highest paid?

Warmack, Fluker, and Barrett Jones got paid when they signed their first NFL contract. I expect the same from this class in 3-4 years. Good question.

Going by 247 composite, Stanford's 2012 class had

Kyle Murphy- 9933 5*
Andrus Peat- 9847 5*
Joshua Garnett- 9817 4*
Graham Shuler- 9057 4*
Brandon Fanaika- 8953 4*
Nick Davidson- 8811 3*
Johnny Caspers- 8382 3*

Bama has
Cameron Robinson 9979 5*
Ross Pierschbacher 9647 4*
Dominick Jackson 9403 4*
JC Hassenauer 9263 4*
Joshua Casher 8956 4*
Montel McBride 8761 3*

Stanford with 7 commits had an average of 9257. Bama has 6 with an average of 9334

I had forgotten how loaded that Stanford class was. Only 1 guy from that class started for them this year though (Peat)

I had forgotten all about Graham Shuler until I went through that 2012 stanford class earlier... his dad played football at Auburn but didn't get offered until later in the process.

Was just doing this TY tbone

I wonder why Peat isn't starting? I remember thinking he was boss

I used the 247 number rankings

Stanford '12: ranking after dividing all 247 # rankings up by 7 is 91.714

Bama '14: ranking after dividing all # rankings up by 6 is 94
