Backyard garden, I have a few plants that absolutely refuse to grow. Was going to get my soil tested this year and see if anything was up. Are there any local places? Does UGA do any testing or any other schools.
ETA. Updating OP
Soil Test came back, via email, not sure if there will be more. I figured Id get a little more info on the composition of the soil
Phosphorous 41 lbs/acre on par
Potassium 203 lbs/acre below par
Calcium 1528 lbs/acre above par
Magnesium 259 lbs/acre above par
Zinc 7 lbs/acre above par
PH 5.9, should be 6.0-6.5
Recommended add 40lbs/1000 sq ft lime
1/2 lb/1000sq ft sulfur or 2lbs/1000sq ft
20 lbs/1000 sq ft 16-4-8
1 tablespoon borax per 100 feet of row in the broccoli and root crop areas
Anything to note or suggestions separate from above?

Your local extension agency office should be able to help.

Extension service will give you some little brown paper bags with instructions on how deep to get your sample, etc.

I ordered a kit from the extension ($15) includes shipping back to them and the test I believe.
Although the lack of sun and heavy rains didnt do much help this summer. Ive probably tilled in about 4-5 yards of organic matter and top soil(garden is 20x10).
The plants in question were zucchini, squash and cucumber. The plants grew great for about a month or so(each planting, tried three times this past summer) as soon as they go to fruit, they just die. I am hoping its something in the soil I can correct

using any fertilizer?
Besides the preseason stuff I till in, we miracle grow every few weeks. Everything else in the garden has no issues

I had the same issue last summer. It was too much rain and not enough sun. My plants were all healthy and died off as they began producing fruit.
Even my corn struggled. I usually put about 200 ears in the freezer for winter but only got about half that last year.
Same with tomatoes. Only able to eat BLTs for about 3 months.

Might just take adding more organic matter/ good top soil.
Does/ did the grass have trouble growing, too?

This happened before the real rain started(end of june through summer) for the first planting. Everything else flourished. except when my neighbors moved and took their 20 bird feeders( really were squirrel feeders) with them. The squirrels decided I wasnt going to have a tomato from that point on.
