Peters may outgrow being a DB is the problem. Just because McLaurin and Wilson are the same size doesn't mean they have the same skills. I still believe more often than not, who offers/pursues a kid says a lot about his abilities.

Court will keep him down, get him on campus and don't worry about it.

Croomdawgie is the 2014 Bunty recruitnik of the year. Darkhorse was not able to keep his title.

Not sounding good with Rankin. We really need to pick him up in this class.

Peters is a helluva athlete and is Safety ready right now. He'd need to put in some serious time perfecting his footwork to roll over to a boundary CB. If he can put on 20 to 30 lbs he'd be a terror at OLB. Decent coverage skills, fast as lightening and can straight lay the wood.

Rankin talks up whoever he's going to see. Who knows what's actually going on.

That being said if we lay the wood to Ole Miss this weekend it may go a long way.

Peters is going to be an OLB. State is the only school telling him he'll play safety.

Been expected since he visited them...Not sure on the whole story. We knew a numbers crunch was coming -- Think I'd say this method is probably preferable to the Virgil method...

This times 100000000, the Chason fiasco was a black eye for Mullen. He has done it every year to some small town MS player and gotten away with it, but he got called out for it this time. It really is simple, do not accept a commitment you do not want to honor. We can not afford this to be our programs rep going forward.

What is the skinny on the Oline recruits this year? I know that the kid from Callaway is committed but looks like he'll need a couple years to get up to size (think he is listed at 285 lbs right now)?

What about Campbell and Washington up in Yazoo area? I haven't seen them (wish they would have moved down to Flora so I could have seen them at MC) but I hear they are raw but have a ton of athletic ability.

Its a no win situation. If you do like we did a couple of years ago with Cord Sandberg and you DON'T take a backup QB commitment you run a big risk of scrambling at the end if you lose the first (ended up having to pull Williams from USM). Cord blew up in baseball but the concern here was that Tiano might blow up this season and get other high profile offers. If Virgil had been open to a position other than QB it could have worked anyway but he wasn't. It appears that Virgil has numerous other options, guess the only bad part was he now only has a few weeks to get it ironed out since he is an early enrollee.

Easy to laugh now, was not so easy back in September. Heck, why do you think we are so willing to cut Virgil loose now. I mean Tiano isn't going anywhere. Like it or not, Tiano is Mullen's #1 guy and nothing is going to change that.

Cord Sandberg was NEVER coming to MSU and anyone with any sense knew it. He did not visit campus nor attend a single game, making it pretty obvious to everyone in America not named Dan Mullen what his intentions were. Why do you think MSU was the only major school chasing him? And he did not "blow" up out of nowhere, he was more highly ranked as a baseball prospect than football when he commited.
