"Making a push" implies attempting to make a move on a prospect that you otherwise don't (yet) have much traction for. Ivey is a kid that we have been in the Top 2 for for months. He wouldn't fall under that category.

Notable quotes for those who don't want to clicky.

Burt's HS coach
quote:

Well No. 1, I think he’s a great kid; he’s phenomenal. He is so unselfish and wants everybody to be successful,” Shakir said. "He really doesn’t know how good he is and the type of level he’s at. He has no clue about that; he’s just so unselfish and wants everyone to be successful. He’s a tall kid that can run and he can do a lot of things that small kids can do. He just has that true natural ability and he works so hard to develop that and he’s willing to do anything and everything.

Burt
quote:

Really the only two programs I still have interest in are Auburn and Texas, and I’m trying to kind of decide if I want to stay committed to Texas or commit to Auburn,” Burt said. “It’s kind of hard to say which way I’m leaning. It kind of moves around a little bit. But really I’m just kind of flip-flopping and weighing out all of the options.

I might visit both schools; it all really just depends if I flip to Auburn,” Burt said. "Pretty much after I make this final decision, I’m pretty much going to be done after that. So it really all depends.

FWIW Burt will not be at the AU-Cocky game this weekend per Allie D.

Making a push to me means to gain ground on a team that seems to be the favorite. UF has been the favorite hence the 80% CB predictions for UF.

I believe Ivey is making the trip alone. He wants to experience without the influence of his friend Cox. IIRC

No. Ivey is only coming for the TAMU game. The staff, CC, and Ivey all want their OVs to be seperate so Ivey can love AU for AU.

Thread on tRant said Chip Kelley would be interested in the UF job if it opened.

Have you not paid attention to Auburn recruiting this year. It's pretty relevant.

I see no way Kelly leaves the NFL for Florida. That's absurd.

First of all, its typically known that theres a recruiting bump when it comes to a new coach at any school. So its really not going to affect us much other than Ivey. Ivey will most likely go to FL regardless of who the coach is, as the pull from the instate is always the hardest to overcome.

Secondly, if Kelly is hired at UF, EVERYONE is going to be affected when it comes to recruiting. Kids will immediately jump in and want to play in Kelly's high powered offense.

Again, this has nothing to do with Auburns recruiting as Kelly is not going to leave the NFL this year as he is finally getting things rolling in the NFL.

Contradicting yourself bro.

It is relevant in the recruitment of Holland and Ivey. Apparently CeCe is considering visiting too. Even if these guys are long shots (which Ivey is not), it's relevant to Auburn recruiting

In essence, any coaching change in the Power 5 can now be brought up in this thread as it could pertain to recruiting.

In that line of logic then, It would be pertinent to bring up the rumor that Michigan is looking at Jim Harbaugh.

Unless we are going h2h against Michigan for some high ranked kids, the two situations aren't all that similar.

Incorrect. Of AU's remaining targets we are only recruiting against UF, Ole Miss, Miss St, TAMU, USC, Ariz St, Oregon, Bama, UGA, UTk, and UTa. Not counting AU there are 63.5 Power 5 schools (.5 for ND playing half an ACC schedule each year). Changes in staffs of only 17.3 % of Power 5 schools could be considered possibly relevent to the recruiting thread.
