Unless Roc is as good as we are hoping, I don't know if we have a run game without a HBack.

We are currently 13th in the country in rush offense, averaging 262 yards a game.

Who do you guys who watch film like better between Denzell Mitchell and Antonio Williams? What type of back are they?

I don't like either, but of the two I would prefer Mitchell. Neither play good competion, but Mitchell seems to be the more naturally talented back.

Antonio Williams is the typical black kid at an all white private school. He's RB, point guard, pitcher ect...

Competition doesn't mean much for RBs in high school.

I am saying if we start using even less of an HBack. Anytime Malzahn does a segment on what he is doing on offense and the situations he wants to create, it always revolves around a numbers battle of blockers vs defenders. Hback gives a ton of versatility whether adding a blocker or protecting non play side when OL pulls

this offense is very articulate. everything has to be timed right and executed properly or we get the CAP cluster fricks at the LOS.

Sometimes I just want to line up under center with a single back and run right behind Young and Coleman.

We have talent on the Oline and we have good backs. The problems we have are all timing and execution issues.

About 75% of this is CAP taking his sweet time getting the handoff and getting to the hole.

Disagree. CAP had no issues scoring TDs against LSU or mizzou.

Of course he didn't. There were giant holes to run through. On the average play, it hurts us.

Probably not popular opinion on here but I really like Jalin Buie. He's only 5'8 on a good day but maybe the most talented back in the class.

Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if we completely scrapped the H-back from the gameplan until we have a good one in place and we replace that position with a 6th OL that is listed as a TE like Braden Smith.
That would make a lot of sense...Or Oregon-ize it by using true spread formations with our 4 best blocking WRs.

Disagree. He has not done much when he's played this year. He's not 1st or 2nd string on his team.

Also the staff has not talked to Buie in 6 months which is code for you can decommit anytime you want young man.

247 has an article up on potential moves by 5 stars.

They think we could make a move on Ivey, Beckner JR, Payne, and Christian Kirk

I've been a little disappointed that we haven't made Beckner a priority in terms of at least making a flight out to St Louis to visit him in person. I thought that'd be done during the bye week.

I think the move has been made on Ivey, but I do like the chatter around Kirk lately. His HS coach is a huge Gus Fan!

I like Williams at RB for now. I think we will take our time with 2016 RB's though.

Yeah and the earliest we'll visit him now is December per AUC.

Agree on Beckner. We don't seem to attract the Dline recruits like Cowart who UAT has made a move for even though they are in better shape than us. One of our issues is lack of pass rush in addition to just needing to reload the DE and DT positions. We heard the reasons/excuses but it's still disappointing.
