Serious Question: anybody think we would have beat FSU?

I don't.

Primary reasons:

- Pass rush not good enough
- Secondary not good enough
- Lost focus on running the ball this year, and making their arse quit.

What do you think?

Edit: reason for asking, it takes a little bit of the sting of not making it. Sure, I'd rather beat AU and win the SECCG and get there--but I don't think we win it this year. It would have only been more motivation for FSU (see: Oklahoma) and they match up better against us than they did against AU.

I just dont know. I want to think that our team would have stayed hungry through the SECC and would have beaten the dogshit out of FSU but I feel like they would have marched up and down the field on us and AJ would have been pressured too much and we wouldn't be able to move the offense.

We wouldn't have beaten either of those teams tonight. Both played at a higher level than Bama.

I hope we take a big drop in the pre-season polls and come out hungry next year.

I think we could have, yes.

That being said, after watching that game, I'm really jealous of what a real pass rush looks like. I don't think their secondary is any better than ours, but their DLine looked awesome.

I don't... Our CB's would've got done up. Plus our O-Line would've played puss against their high motored d-line.

If AU could almost beat them, if we showed up, then yes.

I don't think so. The way Oklahoma handled us, it's hard to be too positive with these hypotheticals.

I think that it would've been decided by one score either way.

Could you imagine the story lines if Coker comes to us next year and we meet Free Shoes in the title game? I know next year is a rebuilding year, but I can help but hope we get it together.

Well it depends on what Bama teams showed up. Do we give Smaug plenty of touches? Do you spell with Drake a good bit? Do we not turn the ball over? All of those things would have a huge factor in the outcome

I know it's a joke--but FSU really hates Bama. I don't get it. We don't even play each other regularly--or really at all.

I don't have any feeling one way or another about FSU.

We return more on both sides of the ball than we did this past season? But people only look at who your QB is.

I know, every FSU fan I've ever met hates Bama. I think it might have something to do with Bowden, because he grew up as a Bama fan and I think Bama may have considered hiring him from FSU in the 80s. That was all before my time though.

Hey our last two first year quarterbacks won the title game. Let's make it a third!

Because they want the lore Bama has and are envious of it.

i disagree. i think what we saw was 2 pretty evenly mediocre teams going at it. auburn was an 8-4 kind of team that had some miracles. FSU didnt look any better. if we had played to our potential we would have been the best team in the country by based on what i saw tonight.

The way Bama played against Oklahoma, either of these teams would have dominated them.

If you seriously still think that there is anything at all mediocre about Tre Mason, then I don't know how to respond.
