Hard to fathom why he has ridden the pine so much this year. TJ and Drake are very good, but this kid is phenomenal. And don't give me that "pass protection" crap.

I will admit that I MAY have been wrong about him. I predicted that he'd be good, but never elite. I may have been wrong. We'll see when he isn't facing a bunch of 250lb D-linemen.

It was the Big12 and you still lost. WTF does that say about your team????

He looked good but OU is small.

He's that LB that will never play RB for Bama. Runs too upright.

I was bewildered as to how TJ Yeldon got back in the game after that fumble on the 10 yard line. Someone help me understand?

Dude was a stud. It made zero sense why Saban didn't stick with him and give him the damn ball on every play until OU proved they could stop it.

Saban got too damn cutesy with the game plan, trying to give AJ a highlight reel game instead of relying on your power run to set up the play action passing game. It cost you the bowl win. That was lame.

Funny thing is I think Les would have rode that kid (ala Hester) against OU and it probably would have worked. It was baffling to me that he didn't dominate the carries. Casual observer.

Yeah that kid is unreal. Ridiculous he hasn't played more. He looked as elite as any back I've seen in recent memory. Drove his legs constantly, never arm tackled, breakaway speed with that size.

He's scary good.

Well, whether you want it or not that's why he hasn't been playing. It clicked in bowl prep. Pass pro is the last thing freshmen backs pick up. The staff knew they couldn't afford to lose AJ this year so they weren't going to play a guy that didn't know his assignments. Henry almost got AJ killed in the virginia tech game.

He's always been a talented runner, now it looks like he's developing into a talented, all around running back

Yeah.. he certainly showcased problems picking up the blitz, which is surprising for a guy his size. Once he learns and improves in that area (which, he will), it will be scary for opposing defenses.

as much as you don't want to hear it...this is exactly the reason he didn't play much this year. He'll be the #1 guy next year though...
