First and foremost, Derrick Henry is insanely good. He's good in space, he has great vision, you can't bring him down with ease, he can pull away, the guy is the whole package. Three man punch at RB next season.

Trey DePreist will be very good next year. Sure he didn't dominate or anything today, but h made some good plays and looked comfortable.

We really need Tony Brown to come in and play, and if we land Marlon we may need him too. Eddie Jackson showed a lot of promise and should develop well. We need another Corner opposite of him though. Tony Brown was a HUGE get.

Cyrus Kouandjio's stock will fall, but at first I wouldn't want him back after he and the rest of the line fricked up AJ's goodbye game, but the fact is he still has the talent and another year of experience under his belt can't hurt.

If the QB play is competent, Cooper/White can dominate if they are allowed to like they were vs Oklahoma.

Sucks that we lost, but really the season was over the second Davis stayed in bounds on that return. A lot of guys did show up to play, but sadly the season and AJ's masterful career will end with a loss, but no need to get negative over it. The last two recruiting classes have been great, and that is really gonna start showing. Not only that, they now know they aren't invincible. Plus we're adding an INSANE class.

Roll Tide folks, and one final thank you to AJ McCarron!

We've had insane recruiting classes before. Tonight is the product of those classes.

I say we decline the next Sugar Bowl invitation that comes along.

That was the product of guys thinking they were invincible. Think about it, even after the loss, they were still lauded as the nation's best team. Football is 80% mental. Now they know you don't just show up and win.

Both the offensive and defensive lines should be better next season, the secondary will be greatly improved, the linebacking and receiving corps will drop off a little, and Henry will hopefully be a more viable starting halfback than Yeldon. My only concern is at quarterback, but that didn't stop us in '09 or '11.

They should've already knew that. Realistic forecast for next year:

We lose our star qb. We lose the heart and soul of our defense. We don't have a punter. Our DBS still suck. 8-4 minimum 10-2 with a Capitol One Bowl max.

My concern is Nuss. I guess we've won it all in spite of him before. Maybe a green quarterback will force him to think about what he's doing before he calls a play.

What makes you think that? We lose HaHa who is our best player in the secondary. We have Landon Collins and a crap ton of unknowns.

The offense isn't changing unless we fire Saban. Seems everyone hated McElwain at one point.

Pretty sure Adam Griffith or JK Scott were given a scholly because they can punt, however I still wanna see it first.

We'll have LC, Vinnie, Jarrick (who played well all season), and Eddie Jackson.

8-4 minimum

Bama won't lose four games. 2 at the most. Are we forgetting JFF is gone and Anthony Jennings sucked the other night? Unless West Virginia of all teams surprised Bama, schedule too easy for four losses.

I'm gonna wait and see who comes back and how the class looks and Spring ball goes before making a prediction, two losses seems accurate, but it would be of no stretch to say Bama makes the playoffs.

My takeaway is

Our secondary didn't improve one damn bit through the season.

Our pass rush is shite until the coaches turn them loose.

Our third down defense is a joke.

The offensive play calling is unimaginable.

The o line played like they did against vtech.

No improvement what so ever. Not sure who to blame for all of this.

I still think LSU could beat us, freshman quarterback or not. I also think OM could sneak up on us as well. Granted Florida sucked this year, but they will have all of their guys back from injury. They have a talented defense that can pressure a young quarterback. And then there is AU, who returns most everyone. And don't you dare say revenge will be a big enough factor that we won't lose. The CamBack should have made us have that never again attitude. Instead this year we had the same old shite, different game.

8-4 is not unrealistic.

Considering the talent/experience coming back and the fact that Nick Saban is the coach, it may not be unrealistic, but it's very unlikely.

Just like it was unlikely that Saban would lose to OU because Saban with a month to prepare... And these leaders won't be let down and all that other bullcrap we believed. I'm believing 8-4, possible chicken bowl appearance. I've lost faith in our coaching staff to truly prepare our guys. We had two weeks (and all season) to prepare for AU. We know what that got us. We had a month to prepare for OU. We saw where that got us. Calling it now, and go ahead and bookmark it. 8-4.

What part of that was funny? The fact that we shite the bed on back to back games? The fact that we were outcoached in back to back games? Please tell me what is funny so I can laugh along with you.

There's nothing wrong with the system. It's the designs and the play calling. There is no creativity and no reason to it.

He's got the right idea, he just can't piece it together and let it flow. The plays don't build on each other, they're all called seemingly at random. When something is working he gets away from it in order to maintain balance. He out coaches himself. It's like he tries something new from fear that the defense is going to figure out what he's gashing them with. That's stupid. Mac didn't do that.

The second half of the Georgia game, we committed to what was working and said to hell with balance. That's how you coach. You run what works. Nuss has always gotten too cute.

And don't give me the "Saban can veto it" line. I know that. Saban pays Nuss to call the plays though.

Saban always gives folks enough rope to hang themselves. We might have witnessed a hanging tonight.

So what about Del Rio or Bateman?

Saban going to start playing with 335 base defense and use more corners instead of 4 down lineman?

I don't think he'd ever change that, but to stay with spread teams you have to do something.

Eta: I'm glad I'm not the only one who said next season may be 8-4

I don't even think that it is spread teams anymore. I think that it's the hunh teams that give Saban fits.
