Obviously, y'all have had a fabulous run w/AJM, and he'll be tough to replace.

Who y'all have behind him? Is there a controversy/battle/war brewing in the spring, or do y'all pretty much know who your next guy is?

McCarron clone, or like us, will y'all be bringing in a guy with a different skill set?

Just search Bama Qb. There have been multiple threads on this in the last few weeks.

Jacob Coker

6'5" 240

All-District basketball player
Was said to have "more potential than EJ Manuel" by Dameyune Craig who coached both.

Big arm---been called a first round talent by more than one analyst

I really dont think it matters who they plug in there. Saban knows how to win with the cards he has. Alabama is going to win with solid line play both sides of the ball, and the QB will do enough to have them in contention every year.

A lot of threads on this.

It's a murky situation right now.

Most think that this year's back up, Blake Sims, does not have the arm or accuracy to really run Alabama's system. The assumption seems to be he will not get the starting job because Alabama isn't going to change its system to fit his skill set.

Alec Morris (will be RS Soph), Luke Del Rio (will be Soph), and Cooper Bateman (will be Soph) all had some good HS credential and have been in the system at least a year, but the word is none of them have separated themselves to show they are ready. Word is Bateman has the most upside but Del Rio is probably the most ready.

Wildcard is Jacob Coker, current back up at FSU, who is rumored to want to transfer to Alabama and would be eligible to play immediately if he graduates from FSU. People are very high on his upside and think he could come in and take the job from the get go.

Not going to discuss the true freshman coming in. I think he will be good, but Saban isn't starting a true freshman at QB.

If I had to take a WAG, it would be Del Rio. Whoever makes the least mistakes is who Saban will go with and lean more on the running game ala' 2010-2011

It's really down to Del Rio, Bateman, and Sims if we don't get Coker from FSU.

Simms has the system experience, Del Rio looks to have the better leadership skills, and Bateman supposedly has an arm from hell with a lot of athleticism. Alec Morris isn't coming along and Cornwell is going to be a true freshman so they are both out. McCleod allegedly will never see a football field outside of warmups

QB's at Bama are all products of the "system". So it doesn't matter who is the qb because he will be successful as a result of the "system".

"Bateman supposedly has an arm from hell with a lot of athleticism." - My favorite quote of the day

Coker, in the picture above, resembles a young Elway.

FWIW

People in ATL are telling me that Blake Sims plans on going "DJ Shockley" next year.

However, I think if Coker goes there....he'll be the starter imo.

What kind of moron said this, and what did he base his opinion on?

He has done nothing on the college level.

All of those words were merely ESPN-speak for "He's the QB at BAMA!" (SWOON)
