Has Brainy Hog Drover surpassed Smoky Hog Drover?
(the current recruiting rankings raise doubt)
Great season for Vandy. After this season, Aggies are disappointed, but 8-4 as a member of the SEC is no stroll in the park.

All time? No, we're still a long way off on that. Right now? Yeah, I do think we're ahead of them even with this apparently (still have to see if the coaches and players use that talent correctly, not questioning the incoming talent) stellar recruiting class. Their classes have been ahead of ours every year, but the gap is much smaller now than it was before. So yes, I do think right now we are the better team in the state. 2 wins in a row seems to back that up. Yes, I know they had possibly the worst coaching situation in the SEC the last few years, but Vandy used that time to catch up and pass them. Now we just have to keep the drive and determination that CJF instilled and used to turn this ship around to stay ahead. I think UT will fix their issues with Butch, so this could actually become a somewhat important rivalry.

2012: Vandy beats our worst defense in history, not to mention our players had given up on Dooley by that point, and didn't give a sh@t. Other than that you beat nobody.
2013: Vandy takes advantage of UT being historically bad, and UGA and UF being completely decimated by injury, a couple fluke calls, and some missed field goals.
Vandy is not "back." Vandy has never been here. This season provided them with a once in a century opportunity to be respectable, and they capitalized on that. Congrats, but you're losing all your playmakers this year and you will go back to the doormat of the SEC. Our game will still be competitive for a couple more years because of our situation, but once Butch gets a couple recruiting cycles in, Vandy will go back to being Vandy.
Josh Malone, Jalen Hurd, and Derek Barnett seem to disagree with you over who owns the state.
73-30-5 (19 Vandy wins pre-1926)
Vandy Fan: "I was talking about currently, UT fans always bring up historical data and say they're better blah blah blah..."
2 years is just too narrow of a sample size (see Auburn for an example). Try 10. 3-7

Sounds very similar to the talk from UT fans from last year. "Congrats on your 1 win. But next year everything goes back to normal. You're losing your senior QB and senior all-time leading RB. We get you at home next year. Butch is here now and he 'gets it', etc."
CJF is winning in the SEC and beating UT with classes ranked in the 70s.
Lyle definitely tried to draw a line in the sand for the Vandy game. He attended Beat Vandy bonfires and broke out the grey pajamas again and still couldn't hold his ground at home on senior night.

Cool video.
Even though you guys are not to a point where you're a threat to good teams yet, you might get there if Franklin really does stay there long term.
The biggest difference is that you guys don't fold anytime you have a chance to get a win in a close game as you did for the last 60 years or so.

I grew up around people who went to Vandy and went to the campus countless times in the 90's. Seriously I'm a fan of both schools and hope Vandy sustain their recent success. I don't know if they'll ever get to the next level and win the East though. UF, UT, UGA won't stay down for long.

I'm not sure that anyone really expects that jump. I, for one, will be happy if we can maintain a position in the middle of the SEC. It is nice getting to go to bowls and beating teams in the East more than every 20 years.

Do you think that I'm oblivious to our record over the past few years? I've been at ut since '10 I think I'm aware of those numbers. We're in a slump. I get it. But what candy fans don't get is that a major factor in their success is our slump.
Here's a stat for you: ut vandy uk and uga all have the same amount of sec championships in the years since '07
