1. Saving Private Ryan
As much as I loved the original musical, I enjoyed Steven Shakespeare's World War II variety much better. Tom Hanks was the perfect cast for Ryan and the special effects for the battleship scene was great. Ben Affleck's performance as the deaf African American cook in the Nazi prison camp deserved an emmy.

2. Small Soldiers
A classic tale set in space. This movie seriously needed a reboot with modern age special effects and it got it while retaining the story and complicated dialogue of the original. It's almost as if the original never existed.

3. Lethal Weapon 4
The 1990s reboot of the classic romantic comedy starring Senator John McCain and Elton John. I don't care if the movie was largely just a 90 minute music video for the band, Rush, I enjoyed all 90 minutes of it. Beautiful Remake.

4. Remember The Titans
A remake of the 1964 film about the emergence of a baseball league for clinically overweight women at the beginning of WWI. None of the original charisma and charm is lost as Ben Lawson plays a flawless "Rudy", the crippled third base woman who starts a rock bad, only to suffer from a vomit-enduced car accident.(spoilers)

5. The Others
Samuel L. Jackson battling through ancient Mayan temples as he searches for the secret conch. The original was great, with the stop-motion dinosaurs and 1930s slow jazz soundtrack, but all that is improved upon with technology.

Usually you're funny. This looks like you are suffering a stroke.
