Challenge the players through open competition to earn a slot on ST.
Award ST players a special T-shirt or patch for letter jacket. Big Dawg helmet sticker.
After a good ST practice award the ST players ice cream or some treat while the rest of the team is sweating out sprints. After a bad ST practice have them run steps.
Designate the returners and quit rotating all the walkons as returners. We never know who will be back there.
Assign an assistant coach to manage ST and a GA to work with him. Send them both to the best ST team in the country for a 2 week training session.

Or we can just buy Mark Richt a STs for dummies book and trust he'll figure it out.

Cause that's more likely

or hire a sniper...

One order,"Drop the tacklers and ball carriers that are not in red and black."

Special Teams dilema solved.

Rubber bullets of course!

Or...hire a coach. Blair Walsh went from awful his senior year to being the best in the NFL in one training camp.

I think these men are past the age of ice cream and t-shirts.

I say hire a special teams coach. Special teams cost us several games this year - I think an ST coach is worth winning two more games ...

Do people not understand that there is a max number of coaches on staff and you can't just go out and "hire a coach" without firing someone else?

Our special teams were legit badass in Richt's first 4 years and we didn't have a "special teams coach" then either. It's just the guys that were most heavily involved in ST (namely Fabris) were awesome at it. Obviously the people in those roles now aren't great so we should look at shuffling some responsibility, but it's not just as easy as making some a special teams coach or hiring someone.

Are we at our max for coaches or something? This seems like a no brainer but CMR fights it each year.

Were there is a will there is a way......ask Alabama. We have no creativity or willingness to go into the grey areas of the rules.

None of those Bammer aides work on the field with players. But they take most of the garbage tasks from the real coaches so they have more time to plan and coach. Richt needa an office assistant to take some of the paperwork from him so he can devote more time to ST. The Bammer guys are like having a dozen GAs.

I read some fans wanting Belin back for ILB coach. And give him the special teams coordinator job (and pay) to help out the team.

Rumor is Coach O may go to an administrative position and Coach Belin is looking for work.

You don't have to hire someone new, but you could shuffle ppl around like you said. Let Ball coach the tightends and let Lily take on special teams full time. Or there is the option of letting someone go and hiring someone in their place that has alot of experience with spt.

A coach. All they did was change his approach. You know, something a special teams coach would do.

I know you can only have so many coaches. Our ST have been bad enough that they warrant a coach. If the current coaching staff could fix ST don't you think they would? Do people no understand that trying the same thing over and over yields the same result?
