Last year these two were not only the top two defensive ends in the country, but the consensus number 1 and 2 players in the nation coming out of high school. Robert obviously had all the hype and rightfully so, but with no one really knowing much about Chris other than the sky being the limit and being a physical freak, is he already proven to be that much better than Nkemdiche as it seems? With their first full collegiate seasons coming to an end, who does the Rant think has had the overall better freshman year?

They're pretty much neck and neck stats-wise.

RN: 29 tkls (21 solo)
8 TFLs
2 sacks
2 PBUs
3 QBHs
32 rushing yards ( :D )

CJ: 31 tkls (17 solo)
7 TFLs
3 sacks
3 PBUs
10 QBHs

The only noticeable difference is in QBHs. Also RN missed 2 and a half games with a hamstring injury.

One of the plays CJ tackled him for a loss.

Looks prettt even to me. Who's got the better dline around them to take the pressure off. That might break the tie.

Different position, but since we're fapping.

A'Shawn Robinson: (through 11 games, he missed a game)
36 tackles
7 TFL
5.5 sacks
5 QB hurries
1 kick blocked

Exactly why his stats would be lower, because we have some talent around him to compete with for tackles, therefore making it harder to get said stats for use on message boards.

Watch some a few games, or maybe just the EB, and it'll be clear who has the edge.

When CJ learns some professional technique he'll be unstoppable.

Or since he has the better line around him he cannot be double/triple teamed like RN is alot of times because offenses have to focus more on the lineman around CJ as well.. But id hate to bring in the other half of a logical debate

RN was rarely doubled. Never tripled. Get real.

So their stats are basically the same when RN played in less games and that makes CJ better?

Did you actually watch the game on Thursday? If so then how the frick can you say RN is better? If their stats are equal then which one would you rather have on your team, CJ who is stepping up as a leader as a true freshman, or RN who is a selfish cancer?

At this point
Jones seems better, but both are solid

Between the two with similiar stats, I'd rather have the one with the higher motor, which is RN.

They are both very good true Freshmen players. Why not let's wait and see how their careers play out and how the coaches develop them? Too many variables to consider in just one year. Why does it matter anyway? We are happy with Chris and I am sure OM is happy with RN.

If by motor you mean his mouth then go right ahead! He's got some growing up to do for sure.
