If Auburn wins the Ironbowl you could pencil his name in at the top of the list.

I'd be pissed and surprised. I'm not sure he would leave so soon. Also loves the south quite a bit. Can't argue that Texas is a top job though.

Money won't be an issue after this year when he re-negotiates in off season.

Did you hear about Kristi looking at houses in Austin?

ETA: Look at Malzahn's history as a head coach.

No -- and this isn't a flame, just basic common sense -- the risk is far too great. Texas isn't going to take a potential one-hit wonder when there are many much more proven coaches out there.

He wouldn't leave after one year, and I think he likes the Deep South anyway

Gus, is not leaving, like someone else stated, concern level is 0%. He and family are entrenched in Auburn and were even when he was at Arky State

Texas will be going after Saban first and with everything they got. If he turns them down, they will be looking to make a big splash from the NFL Ranks. Right now they see a little crack in the A&M Armour and they will be looking to take advantage of JFF and Sumlin leaving. Malzahn would be preceived as a knee jerk reaction to a good year by the longhorn fans.
