I would say so, based on the hype coming into the year, heightened expectations, and the way their fans were talking crap all summer long on this board, that Freeze was the miracle worker and 2nd coming.

5th place in the SEC West? Not sure if that is a success.

I don't think you realize how much beating LSU means to them.

Considering most of predicted 7-5 to 8-4, no.

We've beaten more top 10 teams than Mizzou this year.

5/10. Will definitely get some bites.... Logical people know 7-9 wins was to be expected depending on who got the lucky bounces in a close game. 2 years removed from a 2 win season and we have improved record wise from last season... Normally when you improve it doesn't equal a failure

Everybody was expecting 7-8 wins regardless of who it was against. Also LSU fans downplaying our win are pretty god damn funny.

Apparently we are back to the offseason where all OM fans were predicting ten wins

I know you're just flaming but I'll give you an answer.

I think we've improved since last year and that's really the only goal that we should realistically have right now.

There weren't any Ole Miss fans seriously (as in not tongue-in-cheek) hyping our team before the season started.

I'm not entirely sure the OP was serious. I thought that the general consensus was that ole miss would be better this year than last (8-4/9-3) but that the 2014 season would be the year for them to contend in the west.
