It's going to take some flukes, if even that, to beat a Saban team after his machine is set up and running.

He is the best result producing coach in the business, hands down.

What I think is really going on is kind of like a self fulfilling prophesy. He gets to cherry pick the best players in the country annually at an unprecedented level.

FSU may have even talent, but no one else is even close.

I'd be willing to bet there are dozens, if not hundreds of coaches out there who could take a Saban roster and run the table any given year.

There are no coaches out there who can recruit like him though, and now that the machine is rolling, and the NCAA neutered, it's not slowing down until a few years after he decides to leave, whenever that is.

I have to be honest, the high school kids are taking the lead from lebron. Alabama reminds me of the heat, lebron, and "the decision".

Saban is playing with a loaded deck, and as long as these kids decide to form these "super teams", the rest of us don't have a shot.

Tl;dr version - bama is like the heat, they'll win it every year, but it just feels slimy.

Personally, I used to watch about 10 hours of football every Saturday, but now I'm losing interest in the sport. It used to be reversed, I didn't like the NFL because of the attitude, but there is much more parity there now.

And ps, just because you are a bama fan, it doesn't mean you're smart, good at football, or even good looking.

And pss, Ted2010 lemme see my new avatar.

It's slimy because you're an LSU fan.

Now this was just uncalled for.

I'm taking my talents to Gulf Shores.

I didn't mean to sounds as if I'm saying "you're buying players,,,,"

Hope it didnt come off like that. I'm a firm believer that LSU cmmits as many infractions as the rest.

Your perception of Bama fans. Not ours. Excuse us for being happy Bama is good again. It's not like we didn't endure our share of shitty years.

Agree with most of the rest of your post though. Except Bama winning feeling slimy and implying NFL football is better than college ball.

Yes there are man. If you gave them that roster they would..

But credit Saban, no one could have stacked their roster like that, unless they kind of get lucky an catch an elite player at qb.

He's the best college coach in the game, I don't think that was even up for questioning before Saturday, much less after

Every "expert" you hear and see in the media say that Alabama is the smartest, most well-coached team in the country. Hell, they just make very few mistakes, and that's coaching, pal!

No question that many other coaches would win and win A LOT with this roster. I tend to think that what sets Saban apart as a coach (outside of recruiting) is not his brilliance as a game day strategist, but his ability to get his team to play above the level of competition - play to a standard and not a "W". That is one of the hardest thing for today's coach to do with these players.

Probably.

The fact is though there are a very few (maybe only 1) that would win 3 titles in 4 years. Keeping up that level of performance over that amount of time is incredible. Whether you love or hate Saban that is damn impressive and worthy of respect.

I think it makes any fan sick to their stomach. Not because it's Bama but no one wants to see that much success while the rest of the league is fighting for scraps.

But you can't argue with it: Bama has done very well. I don't want to sound combative as a Gator fan (yeah, yeah, yeah, lost to Vanderbilt, not going to a bowl) but I WOULD like Alabama to face some stiffer competition from the East. They drew Kentucky and Tennessee (1 - 5 and 0 - 5 for a combined SEC record of 1 - 10), they lucked out by having a permanent rivalry with one of the weakest, and seem to consistently draw the second weakest in the East.

sabans 2 favorite parts of all that is bama football. are the 2 most important parts in any football program. recruiting and on the field practice/teaching. according to his own words, these are is favorite aspects of college football. and he has an astounding ability in both areas. total dedication to the craft, ever examining ways to do it better.

He is unbelievably good at keeping his players in control. As a Gator fan I consistently see our players talking trash while simultaneously losing. Alabama doesn't draw a lot of personal fouls and while mistakes aren't taken lightly, he seems way more prone to try and help a player than berate him in front of everybody.

I think you are right on several factors but way off on one big one. With scholarship limitations there are other teams that are able to recruit with Alabama. The difference in talent from the #1 ranked recruiting class is not light years away from that in the #5 class. Saban is the best developer of talent in college football and that is what you are not giving him credit for. 5 stars develop and shine and get drafted as juniors in his program whereas they fade away in others like Auburn. Who has had their share of top five classes lately.

I think it's fair to say at this point he is the best recruiter ever.

Literally, ever.

Give me a break man. Saban has signed the number one class 5 years in a row. No one is as talented.

the ONLY hope for other teams is to have steady top 5 classes and an exceptionally elite qb.

Case and point, auburn, FSU.

School like Texas and LSU and USC will always be good, and sometimes great (LSU 2011) but it's still like climbing mt Everest.

You better have an nfl ready ready qb and a ball hawking defense
