You know how you can tell you're talking with a youngun? When they can't remember how good UT was in the nineties. That program will come back around and it will be a great game again. The entire SEC West should complain that the East gets two of the historically worst programs of all time in UK and Vandy in their division…I'm sorry just UK. Vandy is looking more competitive than ever.

The 90's is pretty relevant when that's the last time you can remember when they were good. It really has nothing to do with youth. They haven't accomplished anything (like winning the East) in how many years? Since '98? That's like a person saying: Man I can tell how young you are by saying Army is a cupcake! Do you have any idea how dominant they were in the 40's!?!?!?! I'm glad Army isn't on my schedule now!

I think it makes any fan sick to their stomach. Not because it's Bama but no one wants to see that much success while the rest of the league is fighting for scraps.
But you can't argue with it: Bama has done very well. I don't want to sound combative as a Gator fan (yeah, yeah, yeah, lost to Vanderbilt, not going to a bowl) but I WOULD like Alabama to face some stiffer competition from the East. They drew Kentucky and Tennessee (1 - 5 and 0 - 5 for a combined SEC record of 1 - 10), they lucked out by having a permanent rivalry with one of the weakest, and seem to consistently draw the second weakest in the East.
-------------------------------------------------
I think that Alabama should have to play the #1 team in the Eastern Conference every year.....oh, that the SECCC game, right.

I never bought into the decline but there is a decided difference in this LSU team and teams of the recent past. I understand all the players that have left for the NFL but I still expected LSU to still have better talent than displayed Saturday night. Still really physical but sure seemed to lack focus.

Tennessee won the East way back in 2007..

Saban is playing with a loaded deck, and as long as these kids decide to form these "super teams", the rest of us don't have a shot.
Some of the kids want to be on a "super team" and some are just lifelong Alabama fans but the majority of the elite prospects are thinking NFL when they decide where to go to school. Saban has a history of player development and of sending players to the pros that makes Alabama very attractive to not only the kids but also their parents. Saban is a very good recruiter but I believe that his coaching is a big reason for it.

Sure it is. The NFL scouts, front office folks, and coaches all talk about how well prepared in ALL aspects the Alabama kids are, coming out of school. Anybody that attempts to portray his system in a bad light is simply a fool, and they're making it obvious by their jealous comments. Hell, if the guy had done the same thing at Auburn, I'd have to acknowledge it...bad as I'd hate to.

And a fan from Nebraska or Oklahoma could easily make a similar argument about all the talent residing in the state of LA from which LSU has an inherent advantage in recruiting. LSU beat Al last year, you act like we are the four horseman of the apocalypse. Quit being a little bitch, buy Saban's book, rinse, repeat, win titles. It's not a secret how Saban does it. The difference is nobody else cares enough to put forth the effort to do it as successfully. So just call it what it is: Nick Saban and the staff/kids at Alabama simply want it more than anyone else.
Hundreds of coaches that could run the table?
Youre an idiot if you think that is true. And they call AL fans stupid. Geebuzchrist!

2008 Bama's top 11 ESPN recruits
(9 were true freshmen)
-vs-
2008 Florida's top 55 ESPN recruits
(Junior & Senior lead team that won 2 of 3)
Saban took a roster with 11 ESPN top 150 recruits(9 Freshmen) and almost beat the Juggernaut Tebow lead Florida team in 2008. Anyone trying to dismiss Saban's coaching abilities comes off like a person who doesn't know football or is ate up with jealously. Nothing personal, but it is what is it is. I'm not sure off the top of my head if those above numbers are 100% correct but they're real close.
Saban with average talent is a force to be reckoned with. Saban with great talent is unbelievable, and capable of historical things. Many programs with great talent don't get it done all the time. Plus, if I'm not mistaken every team that wins CFB's national title usually has had great talent too. What's the problem again?

Yeah, I'm not so sure some people understand how recruiting rankings work.
Look at the last 7 years...generally, you'll see many of the same names pop up in the top 10 with a clockwork consistency. Ohio State. Florida State. Notre Dame. USC. And, yes, LSU. Hell, Florida has had some top classes over the last two or three years. I'm not going to lie -- it'd be nice if these programs tossed a few of their recruits our way from time to time. But I feel the same way about LSU as I do about Bama. If LSU had been kind enough to let us have Montgomery and Minter in 2009, perhaps we could have had an 11 or 12 win season last year. Maybe we could have played Bama in the SECCG. Who knows what a team could do with LSU's talent?
These #1 classes are great for publicity and all, but no team who consistently ranks in the top 5 or top 10 recruiting classes has any reason to complain about another team's recruiting success. They're assembling a level of talent that that leaves the vast majority of CFB in the dust. Any team in the country would happily replace a large portion of their own players with success stories from other top programs' recruits. Take it from a fan who regularly sees excitement over 3 stars that LSU would laugh at -- the difference in talent levels between Bama, LSU, Florida State, Ohio State, USC, etc, is nowhere near as significant as the OP is suggesting. If CFB holds less "interest" for him, it's not because of talent. It's because one program and coach are doing better things with their topnotch talent than his program and coach are with their topnotch talent. That's the blunt truth. The rest of CFB didn't stop watching when USC was dominating a few years ago, or when Florida and Nebraska were dominating in the 90s or when LSU was stringing together 11, 12, 13 win seasons for most of a decade. They're not going to stop watching because a new team has risen to prominence for a while. I suspect the OP would magically regain his "interest" in the sport if LSU managed to win a couple national titles over the next two years.

Lol you are one of those guys,
Yyou think you are a tough guy because you are an Alabama fan.
Just because the team is good doesn't mean you are tough.
Bitch? Me? While your pussy arse was sucking on a bottle I was fighting a war in Iraq. The last thing I am is a bitch, bitch.
If you are such a homer that you can't accept my compliment, which is: no one recruits like Saban. Because he has such a talented roster, he plays with a loaded deck.
If that comment makes you thump your chest, you need a find a woman.
