But how much would Texas really throw at him? It'd have to be a far ridiculous price, because Bama will match almost anything. Saban is in the perfect situation. It wouldn't be a lateral move, it'd be a drop off. Texas isn't chuggin like Bama right now. They have the resources and the recruits, but right now Bama is the better place to be. He's already got HIS players here. The ones who he knows buy in. Going to Texas could be another three year job before he gets to the title game, and with the playoff coming maybe another year or so. He's too old to take that kind of time.

Fellas, relax and enjoy the ride. If CNS had legitimate aspirations to be the Texas coach
A) it would have happened by now
B) you can house hunt in January. You don't house hunt for a new job in the middle of a championship run. Do you really think nick would take the chance at the distraction in the middle of the year if he were actually considering Texas? That would indicate he's more concerned about locking down a crib than a crystal football. News flash gentlemen, he can buy any house in Texas, he's got to earn the trophy.
C) why the need to bring the daughter-in-law if you're house hunting for a spot for yourself and your husband?
This catastrophe chicken little syndrome is ridiculous. Like I said, if he goes he goes. There's nothing we can do about it. Alabama isn't going to shut down the football program.
Nick Saban will coach his last football game at the University of Alabama.
Eta: after 6 years of this shite I've become numb to the Saban is leaving rumors, it baffles me some of you still eat it up

Bama fans ignore the advantages either of those schools offer but recruiting is a lot easier (prospects are a lot closer to home and more elite per capita) and for a coach his age that could be a major factor
There are advantages but what do they matter when he's pulled in #1 recruiting classes in 2008, 2009, 2011, 2012, 2013, with another #1 recruiting class well on its way for 2014? He's recruiting at an unprecedented level. Not even Pete Carroll at USC recruited as well as Saban is recruiting at Alabama right now.
The system he has been setting up here since 2007 isn't just one you can rebuild over night at Texas or at USC. It takes time to get the right personnel and support staff, to impress upon the program the right attitude you are looking for, and to get the players you need to buy into the system. Saban is currently 62. By the time he gets Texas functioning at the level he has Alabama functioning at right now, he'll be closing in on 70.
In the end it just doesn't make any logical sense.

The real story is the daughter in law. Find the answer to why she was house hunting and you have your answer.
Sabam isn't leaving Bama.

Use the brain God gave to you.
Nick Saban and Mack Brown are good friends. Mack Brown, believe it or not, is still the coach of the Texas Longhorns. With that in mind...we can ask ourselves a couple of questions that even a first grader would be able to comprehend.
1) Why would Saban be trying to publicly undermine his friend by having his wife openly shopping for a house in Austin in preparation for taking the Texas job when the Texas job isn't even open yet?
2) Why would Saban be trying to publicly undermine his team, a team currently #1 in the country and looking for a three-peat, by having his wife publicly shopping for a house in Austin in preparation for taking the Texas job?
3) Why would Saban turn to Texas boosters to get him out of debt when Alabama has plenty of boosters who would instantly, and I do mean INSTANTLY, loan Saban money if he asked for it?

You need to calm down and quit wetting your pants about this all over the place.
Pull your skirt down from over your head and cut off the computer.

Mrs. Terry bought land in Baton Rouge last year. I don't see anyone talking about him heading back to LSU.

The wife of Alabama head football coach Nick Saban has purchased vacant land at an upscale shopping center in Baton Rouge.
Terry Saban paid $750,000 for nearly two acres of vacant land at Perkins Rowe, according to the Baton Rouge Business Report.
The land is located near one of the parking garages at Perkins Rowe and across from the "Charming Charlies" store.
The spot has been looked at in the past as a possible spot for a hotel. However, Terry Saban has not indicated what she plans to do with the land.
Nick Saban and Perkins Rowe developer Tommy Spinosa have done business together in the past.

Nick only has one son, right? Why wouldn't Nick Jr. be with his 8 months preg. wife house hunting in Texas? Why does Nick talk so much about all the time he wants to spend with his grandchild if they are going to be in Austin and Nick in Tuscaloosa?
Think about it. Nick is going to send his wife to Texas to house hunt for him and her during the regular season. And doing this in the full view of everyone in Texas? And knowing what kind of media coverage it would get? Nick has plenty enough money he can fly down one weekend after the season and buy what he wants.
The "Nick is leaving" paranoia is a little ridiculous. Give it a break.

Even if Saban leaves at this point, he's done his job at Alabama. I would not hold any ill will towards him.
