If there is a positive to be taken away from this debacle against Mizzou it is that maybe it is the annual shitting of the bed that we must endure every season and won't have to see again until next year...unless this is like 2009 and 2007 when we kept a turd on the mattress all season long.....

Yes, that terrible 2007 season where we finished #2 in the nation. Complete shite season.

Just busting your balls, I'm guessing you meant 2008 or 2010 when you wrote that.

Would you care to explain what exactly this means? Because I see a lot of clueless people throw this phrase around, when sometimes you just get beat. It happens.

SC last year would count, since we looked like a JV team and got our doors blown off. Being within 1 possession with 5 minutes left without half your best players to an undefeated team now ranked in the top 15 doesn't count as "shitting the bed", IMO.

We went in #7 vs #25. They cracked the top 25 because Auburn upset Ole Miss the week before. They were unranked until then.

We had more yards, more first downs, and greater ToP.
We turned the ball over 4 times. Missouri had 0 turnovers.

OP is correct.

Yeah. He is.

The mizzou game was ultimately put out of reach on a completely wtf pick and a bullshite gadget play TD after the waterboy came in to replace Franklin

when it was a 1 possesion game with about 5 minutes to go in the game. There's a difference in losing and "shitting the bed". 12 SC, 07 UT, 09 UT, 06 UT, 08 and 09 UF, etc...those are shitting the bed. Those are games where we either had the better team or an equal team and got boat raced, and didn't look like we even belonged on the same field with the other team.

Last week due to our injuries (I don't care if you think that's an excuse, it was an extremely valid reason why the game went how it did), to be a 1 possession game to a team now ranked in the top 15 is just flat out losing, not bed shitting.

Yep, you would think that Franklin going out would have been opportunity to come back and put the game away but.....

Why not? Those 07 and 09 UT teams never sniffed the rankings and beat us by 3 or 4 touchdowns. If the game last week went how it did but it as vanderbilt, I'd agree with you. But the fact that they are 14th shows that they've at least done something noteworthy this year.

I'm not trying to downplay the loss either, because it sucked really really bad. I just don't think it's as EXTREME as saying we "shite the bed" or whatever.

Let me ask, how would you define the above phrase, as compared to just a regular, plain old loss?

We are the sole reason for their overrated ranking. They were 25th coming into that game going undefeated against little sisters of poverty. They beat a gimpy UGA team that beat them in every stat practically.

The number of mizzou posters has quadrupled on this site since that game and its our fault. We should kill ourselves

I agree missouri is overrated, and is getting by on their win against our backups. But what I keep trying to figure out is what is the distinction between losing and bed shitting? Nobody is answering that. I think we'd unanimously agree the 07 and 09 UT games were colossal bed shittings, as was last year SC. So why is saturday in the same category as those?

They were signing up in droves after they started off 4-0. You just failed to take advantage of the opportunity to drive them off. Now they have established a nest like the Aggys. It will take some serious pesticides to dislodge them now.

I agree. It was a crappy loss with a scout team offense, but nothing compared to 2012 SC, and the UT loses you mentioned

Do you think we beat Mizzou with the Gurley and Bennett? If the answer to this question is yes then I wouldn't quantify this as "shitting the bed". This was we were completely depleted by injuries to our top 5 playmakers and somehow we couldn't find consistency on offense with true freshmen RB's and scout team receivers. Go figure...

Even with our injuries, if we had lost this game by 30 or never even looked into it I'd say we shite the bed. But we didn't, we recovered from a piss poor first half with ZERO momentum to come back and give us a chance to tie on our last real offensive possession.

I cant answer that for you. You have to look deep within yourself. Another man cant tell you when you shite the bed. You just have to know. You have to feel it.
