A&M's kicker was a former MLS player that walked on to the team and won out the job a couple of games ago when our starter struggled. Guy had barely kicked a football before this year. Here is the end of the game:

Probably ought to be on A&M board. It is a fun video, though.

Would have to have been pretty lousy to miss that kick.

Surprised he didn't flop.

Ole Miss might not be great, but they are good, and they played their hearts out. We were lucky to win.

I thought you gave up your amateur status if you played a pro sport.

That, for sure.
But it also has a ton to do with the fact that we haven't been able to hit a FG to save our lives over the past year & a half.

Negative.
Pretty sure Brandon Weedon played pro baseball before being QB for Oklahoma State a few years back.

Only in that sport. We have a RS safety that plays baseball in the offseason

You can be pro in one sport and retain amateur status in a different sport. Pro baseball players often come back to college football. I figured posters on the rant would know that.

He would have, if he was trying to play soccer in college. I guess it is similar to baseball players making money playing baseball and turning around and playing CFB. The only situation I still don't get and makes me made is what the NCAA did to Jeremy Bloom when he was at Colorado.

Chris Weinke won a Heisman after playing pro baseball. A&M has had at least 2 former pro baseball players just at QB, Kevin Murray and Mark Farris.
Comeback wins on the road are fun no matter who the opponent is and A&M came damn close to losing this game (esp on the 4th and 7 that JFF converted). The thing I loved about it though is Lambo is a great story and kind of living a dream. He probably never imagined he would be playing college football a couple of years ago and then he gets to be the hero. Just fun to see that it is truly a game and at its core a lot of fun.

Tbird, how old are you? Mark Farris had more of a baseball career than Weeden did. I always see folks on the A&M board mention Weeden, but never Farris. Was it the pick that cost us the 2000 OU game?
