What has caused the city of ATL playoff curse?

It is starting to feel like the city of Atlanta has some voodoo woman from New Orleans curse the city's sports in the playoffs.
The Hawks, Braves, and Falcons have seen multiple playoff appearances since 2000, and not a single one of them have been able to bring home the trophy.
How did the curse start and when does it end?

Well it won't end this year...Falcons won't make the playoffs and Hawks aren't doing shite in the east. UGA may win out but this'll be just like 05 where we win the SECCG and stay at home. Would be the most fitting.
Maybe Braves or Falcons next year...you gotta just stay with them and it'll make it that much more sweeter in 2028 or whatever.

You give New Orleans too much credit. They're in your head.

Hawks haven't had the players to compete in later playoff rounds. Falcons ran into powerhouse Philly team in 2004, had a rookie starting on the road vs Kurt Warner in 2008. Beyond that, there are no excuses for the Falcons from 2010-2012, especially the 2011 shitshow. But the Braves are the worst. They kick arse in regular season and get home field, where they proceed to lose Game 1 every time. There are no excuses for them; the pitching hits the shitter (Garcia was great tonight though) and the lineup becomes about as potent as the Astros or Marlins. It's pathetic

I was just throwing some voodoo woman out as a reason why all Atlanta sports teams aren't winning in the post season.
The Falcons losing like that at home with the Braves losing is just a hard pill to swallow.
For UGA's sake, hopefully the curse isn't doesn't extend to GA teams playing in Atlanta.

As was said in the braves thread it's simple. Billy Payne sold Georgia's soul to the devil for the Atlanta Olympics and now the city and UGA have to pay the price.

I don't know how I missed that.
I normally stay out of in game threads in the MSB involving any GA team now though.

I avoid it all together. It's mind boggling the trolling that takes place there. It's honestly worse than the SECr because none of it is even funny and people actually believe the shite they type over there.

You have to go further back than that wee one. The Bravos and Coons started in 1966. Hawks in 1968.
There has been one championship, Bravos in 1995. They played for several in the 90s and should have won more than one.
You have just witnessed by far the most consistent run of the Coons, although they may be on a downward spiral now unless TD improves his drafting prowess. Exeception would be the SB defeat at the hands of Denver and Elway under Reeves, although they promptly had a losing season the next year. I actually think they had the best team in the NFL in the early 80s when they lost inexplicably to the Cowboys in the playoffs after knocking Staubach out. Replacement Danny White lead the Pokes back from ~14 point deficit in the 4th quarter. They were 12 - 4 that year.
Hawks has a brief success stint under Fratello in the mid 80s when they were pretty good with Dominque, Spud Wedd, Tree, Kevin Willis and Doc Rivers at point. Fun, fun team. Lost game 6 at the Garden to a Byrd lead Celtic team on an unspeakable miss at the buzzer by Cliff Levingston. Why they left Levingston take that shot, I will never know. Still pissed about it.
I won't even speak to the Flames and Thrashers.
So, now you got the high points. It hasn't been easy and yet I persevere. The Bravos are out, so are the Coons, the Hawks are the usual disaster, the the Dawgs are so beat up, I don't know if we have a receiver left.
Go Dawgs!

Worst Week in Atl sports history
Braves eliminated from Playoffs
Falcons lose to the worst team in football
Dawgs lose half their offense
Hell even the ATL Dream lost their first playoff game
Hawks lost
Even GT lost (this is a positive)

Last year I went to the wild card game and then drove straight to USCe. That was my low point

We'll all rise up together.

Well unless you don't consider the Jaguars a team anymore(I wouldn't blame you if you didn't), I'd say they are the worst team in NFL history.
