Right now, I'm watching the replay of Florida State vs. Clemson game. Right now it's halftime and Clemson's offense is looking good, but Florida State has made a few plays in the backfield causing some long 2nd and 3rd downs. Florida State is moving the ball well running and throwing. The only mistake was a muffed punt that gave Clemson a quick 7.

Clemson offense:
- They will move the ball quite well on us.
- We can kills drives quickly by making one or two good tackles in the backfield.
- I think Jordan Jenkins can have a really good game rushing Boyd.
- Our LBs will have to play the sweeps and options well
- They will run a lot of gimmick plays so we have to be looking out for that and cause turnovers this way

Clemson Defense:
- I think our O-line will be able to handle their front 7.
- Gurley will have a 100 yard game and at least 2 TDs
- Their LBs are terrible at getting off blocks so I see Gurley gashing them up the middle and Marshall going for at least one 50+ TD run.
- Play action will score us at least 2 TDs

Basically this game comes down to who wins the turnover battle and who scores TDs instead of FGs. Clemson has a good offense, but I think they will struggle more against 2nd and 3rd and longs than UGA will. UGA's offense is way more balanced and can throw the knock out punch early in the 4th quarter after their defense is spent. Our offense will be able to control the clock and if we make an early stop, this game could be over early. We may have a lot of trouble stopping their offense, but there is no way they will be able to even hang with ours, if we're smart. Run the ball. Play action pass. Wear them down. Put it away in the 4th.

P.S. - I think our games against Tech and Southern will help us tremendously when it comes to defending the option.

Edit: Please put Marshall or Gurley on the return team. FSU has almost returned 3 kicks for TDs and it's only the 3rd quarter.

Terry Bowden could have told me that.

I figure Clemson to sell out to stop the run.

I figure Clemson to try and establish a running game themselves between the tackles.

A game full of toss sweeps & tricks plays and on the other side of the ball Gurshall running for 4 TDs theory I do not agree with. Yes, Clemson is outmatched, but Dabo will have a better gameplan than people will give him credit for. Should be a good one.

Gurley should be virtually unstoppable in the open field. My guess is he will have 20 broken tackles.

It's going to come down to synchronicity, a connecting principle.

If you don't know what I'm saying, skip me, and pretend this post doesn't exist.

I'm not saying it will be a game full of toss sweeps and trick plays for Clemson. I'm just saying they will throw in a few. So far in this game, I've seen a WR pass, fake FG, an odd HB screen where the whole offensive line doesn't move, and a few strange sweeps.

And it will either be Gurshall scoring 4 TDs or Murray throwing for 4. Maybe both.

I totally get this. Just saying they might as well commit to stopping one or the other and in the end let Murray have his day.. and specially since the Dawgs figure to try and run the ball as a counter punch to Clemson's O.

I hope Dabo is that stupid.

Ya know how the Saints had a pay for performance policy?

I'm talking if Clemson doesn't have a bounty out on Todd Gurley's head, they might as well not show up for the game.

This is true. I think in the first half, we can choose either the run or pass. Clemson runs a lot of man coverage and Murray actually does wonders against man coverage. Back shoulder throws are his bread and butter and with the threat of Gurley in the backfield, I can see us not even having to set up the run to go to play-action early.

Gurley should be able to take control of the game late in the 3rd and put it away in the 4th. Florida State did the same in the second half and they destroyed them running it right up the middle. Clemson had the lead at the half and once they gave up the lead, they simply just gave up.

It's the dueling quarterbacks theory.

Cannot argue with any of that.

The magic of home field advantage is gonna have to help give Clemson any chance.

Again:

1) Bounty on Gurley's head

2) Run the ball to try and neutralize Jordan Jenkins and the bounty on Boyd's head and to keep Murray off the field.

The only gameplan that Swinney is bringing with him will consist of somersaults, backflips, and some handstands. Then he'll get the frick out of the way along with the other cheerleaders, and let Chad Morris try to win the game for him....

How do you know JJ or JSW can't be just as good at it?

With our revamped defense and powerful offenses, I'm expecting a shoot-out type game. Clemson usually has good personnel on offense so I'm sure our defense will be sorely tested. My guess is TO's and the kicking game might be the difference. Regardless, Goooooooooo Dawgs!!

Their offense seems to be faster paced than ours and that worries me for two reasons.

One - I'm not sure Wilson will get his rotation going and we will have some tired linemen.

Two - We have a very inexperienced secondary and they need to be able to play fast and with the injuries we've had thus far. Will we be able to keep up?
