Any of you feel like the mainstream media has a vendetta against your school?

I hear it a lot from our cattle gump neighbors from Starkville...

How many of you also believe that the mainstream media has a personal vendetta against your school as in pushing and withholding certain stories to torment and bring them down brick by brick while ignoring stories that may potentially hurt said school's sister institution / main rival?

I've been reading a few message boards including this one and it seems like this is happening a lot... Mainly to those little sisters to the south in pretty much every SEC state.

Media loved us during Tebow. They don't like us now though. Winning ugly will never bring the media your praises.

They like teams like Oregon...who run it up on nobodies.

UF is used as a joke in the media these days. It pisses me off.

I'm an Auburn fan. So I have to answer yes or I will be banished from The Family.

I would say that some personalities have their own agendas. Some are subtle, but others (Holtz) are so insanely transparent it's not even funny.

That said - SEC fatigue is probably starting to settle in with some of the pundits as well. I mean, how idiotic were the people picking against Alabama in the title game? Anyone who watched even a little football that year knew that Alabama was leaps and bounds above Notre Dame, and that in the SEC ND would've been an 8, maybe 9 win team, tops.

They have a vendetta against any school that gives them news:

LSU - Jeremy Hill
UF - player arrests, Aaron Hernandez
Texas A&M - JFF not acting the way a heisman winner should act
Arky - Petrino giving zero fricks

No one in the media has it out for anyone in the SEC. Everyone in the SEC gets exposure and plenty of time to present their "message."

If you want to feel ignored/marginalized by the media start rooting for a non-SEC, non-Helmet School. Like when they used to confuse Texas A&M with Texas Tech in the pre-SEC days.

The only sports bias that I can say I truly believe exists is the nearly absolute blackout of the Braves on ESPN. HEll, even in the year they have the best record in baseball, the only thing you see on ESpn baseball is Yankees, Red Sox, and now the Dodgers. I have never seen anything more transparent based on network deals.

I have always found this odd considering that the TBS deal and their winning gave the Braves a near national following. BUt it is there for all to see.

Other than that, the only time I have seen true malice directed at any personality from Georgia is Jim Rome's apparent vendetta against Mark Richt. However it is Jim Rome, so you gives a flying f?

ESPN see aTm as a direct threat to their longhorn network and have completely fabricated the whole JFF autograph debacle
