1st day of fall class and he had 57 players to get a 3.0 GPA or better this summer. That's awesome. All you hear about is BUI's and pot smoking. Just wanted to bring that up. I know that the lady's from the North Avenue Trade schoool will make jokes about education but UGA is tough. Proud of those guys.
GO DAWGS!!!!!!

summer classes were a joke.
if you were disciplined enough as a regular student to take summer classes, the teachers gave you an edge to their grading versus normal fall/spring sessions.
<edit... I should have taken calculus and statistics in the summer>

Yea, the point was that every time one of the players drinks a beer or cursese it's in the papers. Nobody throughs out the positives that the student/athletes do. I know that summer school is easy but still, let's celebrate the 3.0 to downplay the BUI's and other shite.

If you aren't getting a 3.0 in Kinesiology or whatever the frick they call PE these days, then there's a problem. Not really something to be lauded in the papers. I'm pretty sure any college athlete in the state who makes Academic All-American, however, gets due publicity, regardless of the school. Hell, can you really be upset at anyone if the state's largest paper, largely staffed by Grady School grads, isn't covering your football team positively enough

I took calc and business stats in the summer. Didn't feel like it was any easier. Had more to cram in to each class.

Aww did you type that up real quick?

You are absolutely right (cramming more in less time)
But the grading was much easier.
Where most of my classes seemed to have a bell curve grading, summer courses seemed to grade almost everyone with an A, B, or C. I don't think i got anything less than a B over the summer.

Georgia tech needs to offer a course in ncaa compliance.
Maybe a statistics course that can teach administration not to pass kids along as eligible when they are not.

Here's a fun exercise, jacket: since the Harrick joke test was administered how many different times has Tech been placed on probation?
(hint: it's higher than your wins over UGA in football this millennium)

Flunkgate was an admitted disaster. Very low point in GT sports.
The BS from two years ago ... meh. We took a stand against the NCAA's BS, and got burned for nothing. If you're actually suggesting that the NCAA is on the up and up and did a great service to college to athletics with that horse and pony show, I've got some outstanding investment opportunities I would love to discuss with you.

Two years ago, the ncaa said not to prep the kids and they were disclosed of the interview.
Yet... it's the ncaa's incompetence that pisses you off?
I know that the allegations were bogus. but all you had to do was be on the up and up with their investigation.
Maybe GiT needs a course on criminal justice. dont let your administration f with the ncaa while already on probation

The kids weren't prepped. The issue was DRad informing CPJ that an investigation was underway. How's that supposed to work? "Um, yeah, hey coach. I'm gonna need two of your starters not to attend practice. Can't tell you why, but you just need to go ahead and tell them no practice and to stay in the dorm."

JacketFan,
I'd help you out, but I've had this discussions 20 times.
Use the phrase 'academic fraud' as much as possible and post the picture of that fat arse sucking his thumb.
BTW, I specialize in chop blocking arguments

What you specialize in involves you on your knees.
And the kids knew what they were being interrogated about (thus tampered with according to the ncaa).
Regarding Jenkins... he couldnt make it 2 years at uga. he got what he earned.
