Is Michigan counting playing itself, when no one else had a football team, to come up with that SOS?

Any list that has Michigan at #1 is stupid. They have played in a two-team league throughout their whole existence and consistently got beat by the far superior teams from the Pac-10. The Big Ten is (historically) the most overrated conference in college football.

Some that really stand out are Illinois and Minnesota.

Minnesota has had some elite moments, in the 1930s mainly. They've pretty much sucked as bad as Vanderbilt since. They, in no way, should be ranked over Penn State

Illinois is the Arkansas of the Big Ten. Really good seasons every once in a while, but subpar most of the time

So what this shows us is that the SEC office must have formerly been in Nashville since Tennessee has had such an easy schedule historically.

When your conference title has been one by two teams for the majority of the existence of said conference, it brings things into question. In much the same way as Oklahoma and Nebraska dominating the Big 6/8/12 for all those years.

They also have played Notre Dame quite a bit. And the big ten wasn't just a two team conference, yes those two have won about half of the titles, but that doesn't discredit the other teams they have played.

Which basically makes it a two-team conference.

They've played Notre Dame 40 times in 130 years of football. With 14 of those before ND even became a national power.

I'm not questioning UM as a national power. I'm just questioning this notion that they've played a tougher schedule than any of the top program from the SEC.

So they can't play themselves, so do yall really think their SOS is because of one team?

Some of yall bama fans have a disdain for UM because of their claims and standings, which is kind of comical considering

What? Just look at the OP. Alabama, Georgia, LSU, and AU have all regularly played one another along with three others ranked in the Top 15. UM regularly faced three of the Top 15.

looking at the list provided. Michigan has played three of those teams more than 90 times each, Bama with one. They have played more games against good competition.

I just find it ironic yall try to discredit them so much because of their claims, especially being a bama fan. Every time Michigan is brought up in a top team list, yall attack
