That's good news. Just crazy how one site has him a 2* and another has him a 4*

That's what makes the whole star system suspect at best.

To be honest, I don't even look at ESPN. I will for basketball but never for football. Maybe I should start.

They have Strong down for being a 3 star recruit. WTF
Posted on 10/17/14 at 4:20 pm to outlawjoseywales
He was a 4, but dropped to 3 as soon as he committed.

ESPN doesn't seem like they try very much on recruiting anymore. they don't usually have anything on commitments until a day or two after the commit. I think that once 247 ramped up they backed down. I wish they would get back on top of things because Insider is the cheapest.
They have us ranked 38 in recruiting class for what its worth.

4* TE Chris Clark is currently committed to Michigan but is starting to look elsewhere. He has a Mizzou offer but I don't know the interest level.
I can't blame the kid for bailing on Michigan. He would be a better player than Hentges or Imatorbhbhe.

Anybody think UFs commits are looking elsewhere? There are 2 Mizzou had offers out to.
Kalif Jackson and George Brown Jr.. He was the one who brought the baby Gator to the press conference.

I don't know but if Imatorbhebhe really thinks UF is a better option than Mizzou...more power to him.

I started taking a look at what things might look like next year and started wondering how this years class might fit in. I really don't think we have any commits yet that will play immediately (other than Abbington who comes from JUCO). Am I not giving someone enough credit or do y'all see it differently?
Lock - Not under GP while MM is here. I'm ok with that.
Strong and Williams - With Hansbrough, Steward, Witter, Walters, Abbington, Hunt, I think we have the luxury of redshirting both.
Hall or Floyd - Have the best chance because we're so thin at WR(1 Sr., 3 Soph., 3 RSFr., that's it on the entire roster)
Warren, Hilton, Perkins - Way too much depth at DB. Beginning to wonder if Hilton or Perkins might slide to WR.
Harris and Owen - We return 9 out of 10 on the 2 deep (only lose Morris). No chance next year.

AJ Harris COULD get some playing time. 4* OL/OG. Fatony, the kicker, maybe. Aside from that, see the rest of the current commits red-shirting.

Does anyone know if there will be visitors for this weekends game? Vandy seems like a better game to invite prospects to than UGA.

Some other year, I might agree about Harris, but not only do we have Crawford, Rhodes, McNulty, Williams, Boehm, Abeln, McGovern, Hall and Chappell returning from the current depth chart, we still have Adams, Bailey, Bauer, Fairchild and Pendleton that he'd essentially have to leap frog. I will be curious to see if and where Bauer makes an impact.

I had seen a name I wasn't familiar with and can't come up with it off the top of my head. I'll see if I can find it. Though, it might have been for this last weekend quite honestly.

Gotta get the numbers. Took a look at the number of commits we've taken in the past at each position, which is imperfect because Rivals might have Golden at LB though he plays DE. I think it gives a rough idea though. Where are we thin right now? WR. Just so happens that we had our 2 smallest classes of WR commits in 2011, 2012 and 2013 when we only took 2, 1 and 1 in each. OL troubles? 2012 and 2013 were our smallest classes in the last 10. DE is thin? Only took 1 in 2011 and 0 in 2012. My concern of the future...DT where we took 0 last year and 0 so far this year. Gotta get the numbers or could be hurting after the Augusta class moves through in a couple years, or one year lord forbid any go early.

Do you honestly see Abbington redshirting?
Posted on 10/22/14 at 8:01 am to wstorie44
No way, Abbington redshirted this season at JUCO, so he now has 3 years to play 3. He will definitely be in the rotation next year. He's a big 4* RB, he will play. If Strong makes it to campus I'd expect him to play too and skip the redshirt. Guys like Witter and Walters are the ones I would expect to not see a ton from, we should have a ton of depth at RB next year.

I think he's redshirting this year in JUCO, so he'll play 3 years at Mizzou.
