we should have a ton of depth at RB next year

That's an understatement.

Hansbrough(SR)-Will probably still be the featured back.
Steward(JR)-Unfortunately for him, I think he'll be an odd man out too. Feel bad for him.
Abbington(SO)-Will step in a play right away. Big big back.
Witter(SO)-Think he'll still get reps.
Walters(FR)-Since he gets the extra year, probaby another year before he gets significant reps.
Strong(FR)-I actually can see him redshirting, though I think he's talented enough to play now.

Terry Beckner Jr is the new #1 on the ESPN300.

Do any of you think we could move Abbington to WR? We'll be awfully thin there next year, it would be nice if we could get some help.

If he moves anywhere it will be to safety. But he is hell bent on being a RB.

I don't know why any kid would want to play RB over other options right now. The NFL does not pay for running backs these days. Sure Gurley may go high in the draft but that's rare. WRs and DBs get paid.
I think Mizzou was looking at the heavy number of RBs coming when they burned Witter's redshirt. I don't see much out of him in the future, but who knows.

This exactly. A hard hitting cover safety is one of the most valuable things in the NFL while RBs are a dime a dozen right now. Personally I want to see Abbington at Safety next year. He was a great safety in high school.

Well, if two 2015 1st round DLs and second possible SEC DPOY (on the heels of NFL DROY Sheldon, Ealy and Sam) isn't enough to keep him here, I'm not sure what more can be done to keep him Mizzou bound.

I hate to say any one recruit is a must, but he's come about as close to as there is.

Don't see it. He's a RB. If anyone moves to WR, it's more likely to be one of the DB's we've recruited, whether it's like a Wingo from last class or a Hilton from this class.

Does anyone know which coach has been assigned to Beckner? I'm assuming Coach Kul is camping in his front yard.

Local recruiting expert Danny Heitert from the STC Grid Report was interviewed on 920-AM, St. Louis today.

Talks Beckner, Strong, Lock and many other local high school'ers on Missouri's radar.

It's worth the listen if you're into recruiting. LINK

Remember Josh Moore? The 3* TE from Olathe Kansas that we went after hard before he eventually committed to Ohio State? He flipped to ku today. That makes no sense at all, dude had a ton of high level offers, no way he'd pick ku over them, especially since they don't even have a head coach. I'm betting he found out he is a non qualifier and had his scholarship offers pulled. It doesn't make sense otherwise.

Has to be the case. No other explanation. His recruitment was picking up too at the time he committed.
