Latest was Christopher Hitchens. Didn't agree with much he had to say, but a very entertaining and informative writer.

Huge fan of Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman. Plus some of the usual suspects (Tolkien, Martin, Heinlein, Vonnegut, Sayers, Wodehouse)

Hemingway & Faulkner, but gotta put Harper Lee in there because "To Kill A Mockingbird" is my favorite book of all time, EVAR.

Damn, forgot Fitzgerald. I like him, too.

If I'd written "To Kill A Mockingbird" I'd never write another thing. Can't top perfection.

Eta - Stephen King. "The Stand" is incredible.

She's Come Undone and I Know This Much is True. Fair warning, I read the first in a women's lit class and really enjoyed it. The second is my favorite though.
