ive always been a big fan of ernest hemingway and ray bradbury. i do believe that old man in the sea is overrated though

Latest was Christopher Hitchens. Didn't agree with much he had to say, but a very entertaining and informative writer.

Huge fan of Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman. Plus some of the usual suspects (Tolkien, Martin, Heinlein, Vonnegut, Sayers, Wodehouse)

to kill a mockingbird has to be the biggest one hit wonder of all time
eta: you dont really hear about him much in lists of "favorite authors" but i also liked what i read from john griffin. ive only read 3 of his works but i liked them all

She's Come Undone and I Know This Much is True. Fair warning, I read the first in a women's lit class and really enjoyed it. The second is my favorite though.
