Not sure why it's a bad thing to be offering JUCOs. This team clearly needs a couple of newcomers to have big impacts. Mizzou has had some very successful JUCO players.

Because it means we're missing on HS kids that we want. I'd rather have a 4* HS kid than a JUCO kid for only 2 years. It's the same exact thing people complained about when FH was the coach, and now KA is having to go that route as well.

Not just that we're offering JUCOs. We're offering mid-major talent level JUCOs.

We'll see what happens but I just can't shake this feeling that we're trying to become Missouri State. MVC type talent. MVC type attitude. MVC type of game. Maybe it will work at the high major level as well but I'm having a hard time buying in at this point.

So Marshall at WSU has lived off of JUCO guys. Isn't he the guy we all wanted?
Anderson looks to be going for JUCO guys this year because he has to win more next year.
Any freshman that's an instant impact kid don't be here 4 years anyway.

I don't have a problem with utilizing JUCOs. But all the fans ragging Haith over transfers can't defend KA for using JUCOs. And pretty much every single transfer Haith brought in was higher talent level than any of the JUCOs we are looking at right now.

Ultimately I think it will depend on if it's a short term bouy or a long term strategy.
Haiths problem was he had 3 completely different rosters each year here. Thus he was never able to build on a prior season. KA needs to get some JUCOs while not losing the freshmen.

I agree. But part of it with Haith was we had really good talent.

We didn't have senior seasons out of Jabari, Clarkson or Flip because they went to play pro ball.

But without getting too derailed, I agree. You cannot rely solely on transfers/JUCOs. It's ok to plug holes that way. And I'm glad our fanbase is being rational about it with this coach.

If you're responding to me, I didn't say anything about JUCO or not JUCO. I said something about the type of players, not where they're coming from.

If you were hoping for Mulder, I think you're going to be sorely disappointed. That is unless his WSU offer is not commitable. Maybe I read too much into his words and the excitement in his voice when talking about WSU. Then again, maybe not.

Mentions Creighton also. Doesn't even mention Mizzou. When asked, does say he's not worried about the record though. So there is that.

Let that sink in. Mizzou is now losing recruits to Wichita State or Creighton.

That's alright, don't we stand a good shot at the former SEMO commit?

Actually, would be cool if the kid's game has improved to the point of playing high major D1 basketball.

It would. He's getting some legit offers, so I will try to be optimistic.

So now that the Cuse got busted that should leave 1 less option for Bryant.

I don't think losing a recruit to the coach that you all wanted means anything. WSU is a top 20 program like it or not. Creighton has history as well that isn't too shabby. I suppose it's KA's fault that Marshall stayed and we might lose a recruit to a 1 seed in the tourney last year. As far as Bryant it seems to me with some of the other offers out we might be behind to IU. Also another crappy program................

Sadly not at the moment, no. I'm really afraid we're going to have to take all midmajor caliber players this year. If we can keep all the freshman and sophmores and drop Bello and Rosburg and replace them with better options I will have more faith for next year, but if we lose a couple of them then I will really start to worry as I don't think we can pull in better players then we'll lose right now.

Just hope that everyone returns to UK so Bryant sees a logjam there.

When in the hell did WSU and Creighton pass us up? I'm not saying they haven't. In fact, I agree that they are light years ahead of us right now. But when, exactly, did 2 MVC (yes, I know, Creighton moved) teams pass Mizzou in prestige when it comes to the basketball programs. Sad state of affairs.
