It's not just baseball. We suck in way too many sports. It all boils down to the philosophy of our administration: spend just enough to key the money flowing in. Pretty sure they view from a return on investment perspective. We get a good ROI from spending on football but not with the other sports. But even in the case of football, apparently they see a diminishing returns function. In other words, spending what it would take to in a national championship is not worth the investment. The admins and donors at Alabama obviously have a different perspective.

Everything else we are very competitive in.

Agree... We were 3rd in the Nation on ROI in football behind Texas (obviously) and MeatChicken. Alabama spends the most. Time to step our game the frick up IMHO.
