Again....compile a list of basketball programs with...

- at least 6 Final Four Appearances
- 40 NCAA Tourney wins
- 30 NCAA invites
- 31 overall conference titles
- 6 seasons of 30 or more wins
- 28 seasons of 20 or more wins

I'll wait for you to do this. Other than the normal 6-7 powerhouse programs, you will find Arkansas falls in the category with Syracuse, UConn, Oklahoma State, historically.

You also understand that 64 teams in the tournament has not been the norm forever, right? Arkansas went 98-8 over a four year span early in our programs history with no tourney. Your logic is quite flawed.

Wow! Amazing! Oh yeah, in the 1940s, the NCAA Tournament was 8 teams. So you won a single game to get to the Final 4 in the 1940s.

Yeah, it was easy, right.

So how many final fours does Mizzou have again?

Somewhat agree. Duke is a product of Coach K. Not much before him. That's his program.

Kansas, IMO is one of the more overhyped programs of all time. Falls right in line with the state of Texas football. A lot of hype, but not much hardware to show for it.

Do you realize it would have been much more difficult to make it to the Final 4 at that time? Now, you could conceivably sneak into the tourny, get hot at the end of the year, and make the Final 4 without really being an elite team. Not so back then.

Arkansas has been 29 times. 17 teams have been 29 or more times.

Let me put this in a way you can understand: Relatively speaking in comparison to other programs in the respective sports, A&M has a better football history than Atkansas does a basketball history. Higher on the wins list, bowls, all-americans, etc. Arkansas fans talk about our football program like it has sucked forever, but you get mad when I say a relatively weaker program in a different sport is just historically ok?

You also have to consider that there is no consistency in Arkansas' basketball accomplishments. They largely sucked for 50 years save 4-5 years, had a nice run from the late-70s to the mid-90s and have largely been irrelevant since. 23 of your 29 appearences came from 1977-2002, with only six appearences in the other 65 or so years.

Especially when compared to the hardware owned by the likes of UCLA, UK and UNC.

Football was our only scholorship sport until the 60s. All of our basketball players were non-scholorship for decades. Our athletic budget was non-existent until the late-60s. We were busy sending all of our students off to war.

A&M's history isnt cut and dry. We largely sucked at athletics for our first 80 years of existence because we were essentially a military academy. Both Army and Navy had larger athletic budgets than us until the 60s.

You ask stupid questions that you know the answer to.

What you don't know is that the NCAA Tournament wasn't always the premier tournament around. Not until later in the 1950s. Prior to 1975, only one team per conference was allowed in the NCAA Tournament.

I wonder how many fewer NCAA Tournament appearances Arkansas would have if they played in a conference with Kansas, Kansas State, and Oklahoma. Besides a Houston run, was anyone else in the SWC any good at basketball?

Again, do you not understand the history of the NCAA tourney? Using that as a measuring stick is not good logic.

As I stated earlier, Arkansas had a stretch of going 98-8 with no tourney. We have 13 seasons of losing 6 games or less, where we did not go to any tourney.

I think one of the craziest stats in all of sports is thar UCLA didnt have a losing season from the early 50s til 2002

You are an idiot. A 9-8 Mizzou team went to the NCAA Tournament in 1944. The NCAA Tournament wasn't a collection of elite teams back then.

I was talking to a Mizzou fan. I don't care about Aggy basketball history. It's not worth knowing.

Arkansas went 16-8 in 1944 and didn't go to the NCAA.

Past tourney's are a bit whack.

Actually Mizzou went 1-1. But it shows how little you know of the history of the NCAA Tournament,
