Actually Mizzou went 1-1. But it shows how little you know of the history of the NCAA Tournament,

Yeah, I'm sure you know this off the top of your head. Especially since you posted on this very page that the NCAAt was 8 teams in the 1940s.

Besides a Houston run, was anyone else in the SWC any good at basketball?

Texas consistently, Houston, TTU, SMU and TCU had some decent teams throughout the years.

Cause Mizzou knows so much about it from experience, right?

Care to explain how a school's tournament success has anything to do with how much a fan knows about the tournament's history?

The NCAA Tournament wasn't always in a one game and you are out format dumbass.

Mizzou can tell me about their team's success in the NIT when the NIT was a major tournament and not a consolation prize it is today.

I will listen. I probably should wait tho, should I?

So how many third place games did Mizzou play in?

The fact is that Arkansas had a good run in their history. That run is over, and has been for closing in on two decades.

No one getting ready to step on a college campus remembers that period of time.

Bobby Portis was talking about that time period in an interview on the local news tonight and how our uptempo style factored in his decision to sign with the hogs.

He is a 5 star and will step on campus next fall.

Holy shite.

Ok, I amend my statement to "and Mizzou still couldn't finish in the top 4."

But hey, tell me more about Mizzou's great history of consolation games.

The fact is that Missouri never had a good run in their history. No recruits can remember what never happened.

Impressive that he remembers Final Fours before he was born.

They have none, that mattered.

Just like making a big deal about the NCAA tourney not being a big deal in the 50s, implying the NIT was a bigger tourney, which it sort was at a time, you could have played and won both.

Doesn't matter Mizzou wasn't playing in either one of them.

Mizzou basketball "history" doesn't start until 1975 with Norm, before that Two NITs, a NCIT, and a NCAA appearance all first round exits.

I love how Arkansas fans won't face how shitty of a basketball program they have now and instead talk about their glory years as if they have any impact on what will happen this season or in the next 10 seasons.

What do you think will impact the next 10 years?

Coaching? Arkansas > Mizzou
Facilities? Arkansas > Mizzou
Fan support? Arkansas > Mizzou
Financial support? Arkansas > Mizzou

Our coach isn't involved in an NCAA investigation and facing a possible Show Cause.

Even if they hire a good coach, Missouri is a proven stepping-stone to Arkansas for college basketball coaches.

Norm Stewart is the reason for the "success", even then they had to forfeit all the wins during his best season.

The only other successful head coach they have had used them as a stepping stone to Arkansas.

This while they were such a "strong program" while Arkansas' was "so horrible" for "10 years" forward. Their AD goes out and lands, Painter, wait he turns them down after thinking about it choosing to stay at Purdue, so they end up with Haith who it turns out is in in the middle of a NCAA investigation and is likely to end up with a Show Cause as a result.

So yes, they are bitter. The SECRant gets threads like this as a result.
