What we are seeing here is parity in college football.

No longer can SEC teams just roll their helmets onto the field and the opposition then proceeds to turn over to bite the pillow. The gap between the SEC and the field has been steadily closing year by year, and this seems like the year in which the SEC is overthrown.

This wouldn't be the first time an SEC team lost a big bowl game and it won't be the last.

The SEC isn't going anywhere south.

The gap has not been narrowing. This year appears to be an off one for the SEC though. The truly upper echelon of SEC teams doesn't seem to exist.

That may be one of the stupidest sentences I've seen thrown together in a long time.

Proves one thing. OP doesn't know shite about college football, about the difference between playing in a bowl game versus playing the SEC weekly grind.

Ahhh, the SEC built in excuses comes out. They aren't inspired!!!1!1.

Is Bama gonna be uninspired when ND takes them behind the woodshed?

This is what happens in an era with scholarship limitations and makes Bama's accomplishments that much more impressive. A team like Boise State never would have existed in the '70s and '80s. All of the under the radar guys they got like Kellen Moore and Doug Martin would have been playing at bigger programs if schools were allowed to give out 95, 100 scholarships like they used to be able to do.

If Florida prepared for Louisville like they did LSU this would be a different game. All these kids on Florida are thinking about is getting a snail trail on Bourbon St later tonight.

this isn't parity necessarily. This is Charlie Strong with a well stocked team taking it to a team which has the offense of my peewee team. Looks like Alabama will have to win to save our conference again...

but I'm still holding out hope on the Gators.

Seems to me that only LSU and UF are having problems.

no excuses in this game. arse beating so far. The SEC is fallible. But I wouldn't go about calling out a team that is playing for their 3rd title in 4 years. They've earned respect

If that is their line of thinking, I really wished they would have sent UGA instead. At least UGA would move the ball and put up points with their offense.

LSU pretty much went with the same plan as always, it just finally caught up with em.
