We've been bragging about our bowl record, and this year ain't nothing to brag about.

The B1G was supposedly awful, and we struggled in every game with them.
Lou-ah-vulle is sticking it to our most accomplished regular season team.
LSU got just plain beat -- by a team Carolina just plain beat.

So maybe this ain't our best year for bragging. But we will get 7.

Hell, 2006 LSU could prob beat 2012 Bama by 3 possessions.

You mean the same LSU team that put up 3 points against Auburn, lost by 2 TDs to Florida, and needed overtime to beat a 4-8 Ole Miss team at home? That LSU team?

it was a team that took awhile to get things steamrolling.

But yes, the 06 LSU team was damn good.

Florida like many other SEC teams set their goals higher than to just play in a BCS Bowl. They were unmotivated and uninspired to play Louisville. Florida was very close to playing in the national championship.

For Louisville this is one of the biggest games their school has ever played in. Congrats to Louisville for showing up tonight and playing one heck of a game.

If Florida would have been matched up against Oregon then you bet your arse the Gators would have shown up to play. This is just another BCS appearance for a team that has played in more BCS bowls than probably any other team.

You do know the 06' team is considered the worst BCS NC.

Are u serious. No one in their right mind including Florida fans thought they'd be ranked 3rd in the nation before the bowl games and playing in the Sugar Bowl. There was a lot to play for tonight. They just were flat out beaten.

'06 Florida and '07 LSU are the two worst national champions in the two weakest seasons of the BCS era. It's laughable to say this season is garbage while talking up teams from those years.

You must not have watched that game. Clemson has the lead at half and it was a three point game up until about four minutes to go. South Carolina did what they needed to and won but it wasnt a beat down like your putting it out to be.

incorrect

If LSU played Clemson or Florida played a Louisville in a playoff game rather than a meaningless bowl game, you would see different results. You are right though, certainly LSU and Florida were foolish to mail in their efforts. Clemson and Louisville were on a mission; LSU and Florida were bored.

The 2006 team was light years ahead of the 2007 team that backed into the BCSCG. I'd take 2006 LSU (-14.5) vs 2012 Alabama without hesitation.. and add another field goal (or more) on to that for this 2012 LSU team.

Only '08 Florida, '09 Bama, and '11 Bama were "great" championship teams.

Of those, only 2008 Florida compares to 2001 Miami, 1995 Nebraska, 2004 USC. Florida had great defense, great QB, great coaching. Ole Miss scored an upset but no other team came close. Upsets happen.

2009 Alabama was solid but not explosive on offense and I don't think was as good as 2011 Alabama.

Of course 2011 Alabama didn't win its division and shouldn't have even gotten a rematch but it was probably Bama's best Saban team.
