Count me as one of the few who believes Butch Jones can succeed

I don't think this is a bad hire. With all of the old salt in the conference now (Saban, Spurrier, Richt, Miles, etc.) big name coaches do not want to come in and try to rebuild. There isn't enough room at the top for them to feel like they can succeed. Established coaches are not risk takers. What programs such as UT and Auburn need are young, unproven coaches with passion and drive to become an established coach. James Franklin is a perfect example of what passion and drive can do for a program.
Enter Butch Jones. No one in Knoxville wants him, and he knows it. And he doesn't give a frick. That shows me all I need to know. Sure, he will take some lumps, but with UT's resources I think he has the potential to be very good. Plus, there is no pressure since no one expects him to do anything of note.
I don't care if it's TL and you DR. It's Friday and I ain't got shite to do.....

I don't troll. Hell, I rarely post. I was being dead serious. I'm from east TN, so I have always been a Vols fan to an extent. Want to see them return to the late 90s.

If by, succeed, you mean to drive this football program to its lowest of lows, you may be on to something.

Who you calling "old salt"?
Miles probably wouldn't take very kindly to that.

No, Auburn hiring Gus was great for us. I think he is a really good coach and is going to end up being the most successful of the new hires.

That is what I think, too. It will take a year or maybe two, but it will happen.

Glad to see I am not the only one that thinks this. Jones has one at both schools he has coached and I see no reason why this will change.

Nice pic of my boy Mike Ayers.

Horrible hire I mean Dooley even beat this guy. He has been leaving off of kellys success IMO Jones will be a 6-6 type coach
