Bama wouldn't have played LSU the week before. Not a flame just interested in the rants opinion.

Bama beats them 9/10.

Hard to say. Bama was weakened by LSU but A&M did exactly what they needed to do to beat Bama; come out and hit them in the mouth early. A&M got an early jump on Bama and playing from behind can be difficult with a lot of players without a lot of experience and to add being banged up.
Not taking anything away from A&M's victory, they did exactly what they needed to do and knew how to beat Bama.

I do. And I think if they played again next week, A&M would win again.
I also think bama was extremely lucky not to lose by at least 14 this past weekend.

Don't think that is as important as actually playing a team like LSU, and learning you were vulnerable. Had Alabama not played LSU at all, and thought they could have face an NFL team, would have crumbled and lost by 50. AJ would have been streaming tears in the second.

I know that historically some good teams have stuggled through facing three top-15 teams consecutively; however, Alabama cannot use that excuse because Mississippi State is not a true top 15 team.
Explain why Alabama played so poorly against LSU? Was there a Mississippi State University hangover?
Of course not. Alabama was accustomed to that much success the entire year, but now I'm starting to wonder if Saban truly struggles to prepare for LSU . I know the regular season series is 3-3, but Miles' worst teams in his tenure were able to compete with two of Alabama's better ones ('08, '09).

They were lucky to not lose to LSU by 14 too

If they played the same defensive scheme, they would lose. LSU gave them the blueprint on how to stop the Aggies and Little Nicky chose another path...

Two things to consider One, yes LSU probably "weakened" them. Second, if Bama doesnt get that fourth and four by the skin of their tooth when down 20-0 A&M probably goes down, scores again and we would have had a blowout on our hands.
So yeah, LSU helped BUT A&M was THIS close to crushing Bama in their house. It may have happened anyway.

A little overboard, but I was about to post the same sentiment as TeleFawx. Alabama's game against LSU may have been tiring and emotional, but it was also the first time they had been tested. Playing A&M without having played LSU and it could have been worse.
A&M is a very good team. They did much of the same thing to LSU as they did to us, we just had more turnovers. Alabama, LSU, and A&M can all believe they would win and make a case for it.

Hell, who knows?
It's hard to face two tough teams in consecutive weeks. But what's done is done. Nobody gets a free do-over.
Well, okay- sometimes they do....but still....

Me.
I said last week A&M would beat bama. Part of that was due to Johnny and his mad skills but the biggest part was the emotional game against LSU and what that game took out of them. Hard to get up the next week after a game like that.
Still, you cant take anything away from A&M because they had to show up and make it happen and they did.

We spotted them 20, then turned the ball over 3 times, and still almost won. I'm sure the emotions and wear from the LSU game had something to do with the slow start. I want to stop there though, because A&M played a hell of a game and deserved to win. They were clearly the better team on Saturday.

What makes this conference great is that you have to play huge games back-to-back and sometimes back-to-back-to-back. It's precisely THE reason why we tell the Oregon's, Boise State's, Kansas State's, and Notre Dame's why their teams aren't as good as a one loss SEC team.
LSU had to play Florida, South Carolina, and Texas A&M in back-to-back-to-back weeks. We lost the first game and won the next two.
It is what it is in this conference. Doesn't matter that Bama played LSU the week before. You simply have to get it done when the game is scheduled. Just as LSU had no excuse for losing to Bama the previous week, Bama has no excuse for losing to A&M.
This is Big Boy Football. We play tough teams on a weekly basis.

I think it's hard to play your best the next game coming off an emotional high regardless of the opponent.

Bama would have won if they had just run the ball 4 times from the 6 yard line instead of getting pass happy. That should be the only topic being discussed here. Very poor play calling.

You were even closer to losing by 20+ than winning. As mentioned, Bama doesn't convert that 4th down attempt, it is probably 27 or 28 to 0 and the route is on.
