Good thread. You proved beyond a shadow of a doubt that you have trouble forming sentences

I respect your opinion but could not disagree more.

I just don't believe in his system like you do. I feel that his system can't work on a consistent basis without All-SEC type players. I also don't think he is committed to recruiting the necessary talent on defense.

I figured you would mention that. We were 7-5 with losses to Kentucky, Arkansas, Georgia, LSU, and Alabama. Records mean nothing to me when that is the case. Plus it was first year, caught some teams by surprise, and I have always believed Ben Tate to be the most underrated player to play at Auburn in my lifetime.

Yeah but he beat the almighty Saban once. Which I figured wasn't that big of a deal to this guy until I checked out his post history and half of the first page is just this guy talking about Saban.

kentucky was the only sore thumb loss that year.. chris todd sucks and he set records idgaf what you say.. Gus is the real deal and saban knows it.. thats what we need somone who can out smart saban and gus can.. nobody can score on saban.. give gus a good D-coordinator and go to work..

what? saban and bama are the best in order to be the best you have to beat the best!

You're forgetting about a guy named Cam Newton. Gus is 0-2 against Saban without Cam (unless he beat Saban while he was a co-coordinator at Arkansas but I CBA to look that shite up).

Didn't win. The win is the only fricking statistic that matters and you're throwing it to the curb because it doesn't mesh with your delusional quest to portray Gus as an equal to Nick Saban.

He's probably better than Chizik but he is very far from ideal.

there is NO ideal coach out there thats on our radar so far.. Gus is better than fisher and strong to me..saban didnt become who he was overnight, he put in the work and is continuing to do so.. Gus is a football junkie.. he has been successful everywhere when given FULL control..

And he put up 10 against Les Miles.

And we lost to Arkansas, UGA, and Kentucky that year as well.

He's got a lot to prove before I'm ready to bring him in as the HC

Everyone has different definitions of "proven" but if we keep comparing everything we do to Alabama, we're just gonna hurt ourselves in the long run.

There are 11 other games on the schedule that are just as important as the last one of the season. Beating Bama is nice, but I'd like to focus on winning the other 11 as well.

Plus Saban is beatable. If Chizik can pull it off, anyone can.

yea, lets play for 9-3 seasons like UGA instead of beating Alabama who runs the west.. who wants to win championships? As far as chiz beatin saban, even the sun shines on a wet dogs arse every now and then.. saban is beatable, but it takes a hell of an offensive or mind to do it or a ridiculous D.. if you can beat saban, the other 11 should be won or expected to be won as well dont you think?
