It's a pretty unfortunate situation for Shaw: the shoulder/back injury is preventing him from practicing like he should, and it's showing in his limited performances. He's still the better QB IMO, in that he's the more experienced and proven, and he brings more to the table than just throwing.
He was very impressive during the off-season in throwing the ball, more impressive in fact than Thompson was. He's just not been able to play at 100%, and now it looks like he's being pushed further back....
