Serious question. When are y'all gonna do the Bon Fire thing now? That's a cool tradition.

No disrespect intended. Forgive my ignorance, but I thought the tradition continued after the tragedy.
my apologizes, if not.

The HOMOerotic BS on here is a joke. That stadium is 1/2 full of inebriated coeds. In my day there it was so. To be honest, although hyperbole, as a male, yell practice on this level is almost like a man in a women's prison with a fistfull of pardons. Unless you are rainman or have other congenital deformities, usually there's a high chance of some hookup on a physical level with a female. These comments exclude corps of cadets activity, as I have no experience with said group that night.

No, it's all good You're right, it did continue to a certain extent after the tragedy. The students still held a (much smaller) bonfire off campus before our game with texas. It was nothing like it was before the tragedy, though. I honestly don't know what's going to happen to it now that we're no longer playing the 'horns. And that makes me sad--most Aggies who've been around awhile will tell you Bonfire was the one tradition that united the campus unlike any other save for Silver Taps and Muster.

this. I just got in from the bar, and only reason I'm in this early is because we got an 11 o clock game tomorrow.

As the class whose senior year had the Bonfire accident, I can speak with authority on this:
You could pretty much assign one "defining event" for each semester with the semester leading and building up to it.
For the fall semester, it was Bonfire (cut began the 2nd/3rd weekend of the fall semester and the cut-load-push schedule went from there).
For the spring semester, it was Muster (usually the end of Parents' Weekend as well).
Right after those events, you had dead week, finals, and the end of the semester.

Any possibility the bonfires will come back similar to how they were, mebbe with more safeguards?

Oh I've been to the student bonfire--they actually held it less than a thousand yards from my family's house, believe it or not
It just wasn't the same cuz I grew up going to the pre-collapse Bonfires. The off campus one is great, though, don't get me wrong.
