Wtf, is Alabama the new Kansas?

Has Alabama always had tornados this bad and I'm just noticing due to Tuscaloosa last year?

Reed Timmer from "Storm Chasers" posted this on his Facebook page. I can only assume that the source of this map is the National Weather Service in Norman, Oklahoma.

And I'm somewhat color blind so don't make fun of me if I can't spot pink from purple, douches.

West central Alabama has always been a hot bed for tornadic activity. Alabama and Mississippi are known by NWS as "Dixie Alley."

It really does seem that the tornado activity has spiked in areas other than the usual Oklahoma, Kansas, Nebraska etc

I walked outside this morning and yelled "frick!". It was over 70 degrees this morning @ 7:30. This is the warmest winter morning I can think of. Be safe for those that live north of me.

Cape values and helicity are through the roof in your areas.

Please be safe. Someone is going to see some F3 plus tornadoes. Possibility for some F4-F5 ones.
