After Collins arrived in Orlando for the week of practices before the Under Armour Game, he called his mom to make it clear that he would likely choose Alabama and that he had reached this decision on his own. Justin responded with a text that said she couldn't support his choice and wasn't going to come to the game

That woman has serious issues.

Really???? She wants him close to home, she wants her son to value her opinion. NEVER, EVER question a mother and her son.

She does, but it looks like she's making some headway on getting him to LSU. He took an unofficial visit there last week.

Yeah really. Her son wants to go where he wants. She acts like a baby "I'm not coming to your game." Embarrasses him on TV. She needs to cut the cord and let the guy make his own choice on this.

I wouldnt put much stock into it. He wants to leave LA and the stuff that mom pulled is prolly pushing him farther and farther away not drawing him closer. Prolly visited out of courtesy.

I also read he wore Bama shirt and stuff too and said he went out of respect for the state and for the coaches.

I don't disagree that she may just want what she feels is best for her son, but the way the article portrays her actions indicate she is very immature and spiteful.

Stealing the spotlight from her son's commitment was just awful of her.

Parents don't have to agree with their kids decisions, but to not be supportive and say you won't be at their announcement because of it does imo constitute bad parenting. It's not like this kid committed to LSU and then flipped to Bama. He made a decision that she didn't like and she is acting like a baby about it.

No way do I think this kid flips to LSU, but the "he wore a Bama shirt" thing is a rumor. It didn't happen.

Spoken like a dude typing from his Momma's basement.

Get real, dude. He doesn't live with her. That was HIS choice. That should tell you something.

There's no doubt he loves her, and there's no doubt she wants him close to home. However, kids go AWAY to college all the time. Most have the support - both emotional & financial - of their parents. In this case, he doesn't need the financial support b/c his school, books, meals, and housing are paid for. The least she could do is offer him her emotional support. You know...like a mature adult who cares more about her children than herself.
